In this DROPS video we show how you can increase with yarn over (yo) This is an increase that creates a decorative hole.
We show the increase 2 times in the video. Halfway through the video we have turned the work and show you how to work the yo in front or back loop depending if you prefer a larger or smaller hole. When working the back loop the stitch becomes twisted and this way the hole becomes a bit smaller.
You must read the pattern to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns where you can use this technique by clicking on the pictures below.

Dear Susy, there are two increase types. The one after the rib, in the next round, you purl the yarn overs twisted. When working the yoke with holes, you knit the yarn overs normally, not twisted. That way the holes should be visible. Happy knitting! 15.07.2022 - 12:29

Dear Mrs Matheny, correct the marker should be inserted in the stitch (not between stitch) and should always in the same stitch, ie after 1st increase, it will be the 3rd stitch on needle, after 2nd increase the 4th stitch and so on, just move the marker forwards as you go - it's the dotted line on the front piece in the chart. Dear Mrs Bretag, in size M work as follows: *A.1 ('= 3 sts), A.2 (= 3 sts)*, repeat from *-* a total of 22 times (= 22 x 6 = 132 sts). Increase in each A.2 as shown in diagram: on first round you will increase 1 stitch in every A.2 for example (= there are 4 sts in each A.2 after the first row has been worked). Dit gaat eigenlijk op dezelfde manier, dus terwijl je de steken averecht breit, maak je een omslag tussen 2 steken (zie deze video )Deze omslag brei je op de goede kant recht om een gaatje te krijgen of gedraaid recht (in de achterkant van de steek breien) om een gaatje te voorkomen. Dit is ook allemaal in de video te zien.

Dear Mrs North, in this pattern, both markers are in a stitch, so that you have to increase like this: work to the stitch with marker, make a yarn over, work the stitch with marker, make a yarn over, work to next stitch with marker, make a yarn over, work the stitch with yarn over, make a yarn over = you have increased 1 stitch on each side of both stitches with a marker. Bonjour Simone, quand on tricote A.1 sur l'empiècement, les augmentations du raglan vont se tricoter en A.1 = soit à l'endroit, soit à l'envers en fonction de la maille à tricoter, veillez bien à ce que votre motif soit toujours de 2 m end/2 m env ou 2 m env/2 m end sur les mailles entre les marqueurs (et les 2 m end des raglans). Au tour après l'augmentation, tricotez le jeté torse à l'endroit ou à l'envers pour éviter un trou. Les tours commencent au milieu dos, vous augmentez d'abord à la fin du dos, puis début/fin manche, début/fin devant, début/fin manche et début dos. Bon tricot! 24.10.2018 - 09:07

Bonjour Mme Verstraete, on tricote 2 fois la m lisière, alternativement dans le brin avant et le brin arrière et on fait 1 jeté qui sera tricoté torse au rang suivant au double point de riz (= si la m suiv doit être une maille end, tricotez le jeté torse à l'envers, si la m suiv doit être une maille env, tricotez le jeté torse à l'endroit).
