Smock pattern: wind the yarn twice around sts
Here is a technique where we wind the working yarn around 6 stitches to create a nice texture while just working in rib (K2, P2). We cast on 22 sts, wind 6 sts tog on every 6th row. To create the texture we alternate the 6 sts wound tog for each repeat.
The video starts on row 16 from WS before the first wind (P2, K2 across ending with P2).
Row 17 (RS): * place 6 sts on a cable needle, wind the yarn twice around these 6 sts - tighten, work the 6 sts from cable needle as before (rib), P2 *. Repeat *-* 2 more times, but end last repeat with last K2 from cable needle.
Continue in rib.
Row 23 (´RS): K2, P2, * place 6 sts on a cable needle, wind the yarn twice around these 6 sts - tighten, work the 6 sts from cable needle as before (rib), P2*. Repeat *-* and end with K2.
Repeat the rows with winding on every 6th row until desired measure.
