How to knit rib stitch cable

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a cable with rib (K2, P2 and P1 in each side) over 16 stitches. We have already knit a piece with K2 and P3 in each side = sample has 26 stitches. Row 1 in video: Right Side: K2, P3. Now start the cable: Slip 8 sts on cable needle in front of piece, P1, K2, P2, K2 and P1, then P1, K2, P2, K2 and P1 from cable needle, finish with P3, K2, turn. Wrong Side: K2, K over P and P over K, finish with K2, turn. Right Side: K2, P3, K over K and P over P and finish with K2, turn. Continue like this until you have knit 16 rows after using the the cable needle. Then knit a new cable with the cable needle. We use DROPS Snow in the video and the little knitting sample is knitted in DROPS Cotton Merino. You will find a pattern with this type of cable by clicking on the picture below

Me encantó la forma de tejer en estilo continental (no me sorprende ello, pues he visto muchos videos aquí y sé que es el método que se utiliza), no obstante destaco la forma de tejer el punto de revés, es excelente!! Mi forma de tejer es en estilo inglés, cada tanto practico el continental y justamente los puntos del revés son, para mí, los problemáticos. (deberé practicar con mayor frecuencia). Saludo cordial!

In this DROPS video we show how we work a cable a little bit out of the ordinary. Cast on a number of stitches multiple by 9+2 + 2 (= 1 edge stitch on each side). We have cast on 18+2 +2 (=1 edge stitch in each side). Knit the edge stitches in each row. ROW 1 (right side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * purl 2, knit 2, knit 3 in next stitch, knit 1, knit 3 in next stitch, knit 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time, purl 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * knit 2, purl 2, put the thread in front of the work and lift the 7 next stitches to the right needle, purl 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time, knit 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 3: Knit 1 edge stitch, * purl 2, slip the 2 next stitches of the left needle (put them back), put the 3 next stitches on the right needle, put the 2 loose stitches back on the left needle, put the 3 stitch on the right needle back to the left needle and knit these twisted together, knit 3, slip the next 3 stitch from the left needle (put them in front), put the next 2 stitch on the right needle, put the 3 loose stitches back on the left needle, put the 2 stitches on right needle back to left needle, knit 2, knit 3 twisted together *, repeat * - * 1 more time, purl 2 and knit 1 edge stitch.
