Dear Laura, this diagram is quite old, so it's less explained than more recent patterns. It's shown as seen from the right side. So X is knit 1 from the wrong side (but it's seen as purl 1 from the right side). Happy knitting!

Bonjour Lili, tricotez les cases blanches en jersey (= à l'end sur l'endroit et à l'env sur l'envers), les cases avec un x se tricotent à l'endroit sur l'envers = 1 point mousse de chaque côté. Bon tricot!

Hoi. De beschrijving van de tekst is de goede kant. R op de goede kant (leeg hokje) is av op de verkeerde kant, en av op de goede kant (hokje met kruis) is r op de verkeerde kant.

Pattern: See diagram. Diagram is showing pattern from RS. Shawl: Knit piece back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 5 sts on circular needles and work pattern according to chart - M.1. After the chart continue in the same manner, increasing 2 sts every other row, and adding «blossoms» as in chart. Continue until there are 14 blossoms across width = 209 sts. K 5 rows with stocking sts over the last blossom row, keeping 16 sts in each side in lace pattern and continuing to increase 2 sts every other row. After these 5 rows there are 213 sts on needle. Now knit lace pattern over all sts – put a marker in center stitch and continue to inc 2 sts every other row as before - Pattern 2 shows how the pattern should look at center, with each side a mirror image of lace pattern. Knit 24 rows lace pattern, then P 1 row (right side row), bind off all sts on the next row. |
