Dear Claudia, it means that depending on the size you are making, you should crochet 10-12-12 treble (UK) or dc (is) into the chain stitch ring. (Yes, what is treble in the UK is the same thing as dc in the USA). Happy Crafting!

Dear Claudia, if you want to make this hat smaller, try working with a smaller gauge (using smaller needles). Or in the last round with increases, you can increase fewer stitches, maybe even leave that round out entirely. I hope one of these ideas would work for you. Happy Crafting!

Bonjour Angelique et merci. Pour faire 1B autour des ml, piquez le crochet dans l'arceau de 2 ml du rang précédent - le diagramme se crochète ainsi : A.1 sur les 4 premières ml (on fait 5 ml pour tourner et on crochète la 1ère B dans la 9e ml à partir du crochet), puis répétez A.2 (2 ml, sautez 3 ml, 1B dans la ml suiv) jusqu'à ce qu'il reste 4 ml, puis crochetez A.3 (=2ml, sautez 3 ml, 1 B dans la dernière ml). Au rang 2, 4 ml pour tourner, 1 B dans l'arceau de 2 ml, 2 ml, 1B dans l'arceau de 2 ml suiv etc.. Bon crochet!

Buongiorno Manuela. Deve puntare l'uncinetto non nei fili della catenella, ma nel buco che le 2 cat formano tra le 2 m alte della riga precedente. Se riesce ad ingrandire la fotografia dovrebbe vedere che la maglia alta è intorno a queste due cat. Buon lavoro!
