When I start the body, in the first row I do the required amount of stitches and when I reach the end I have to add two A2s to reach the end of the row.. What am I doing wrong?
17.05.2018 - 00:34DROPS Design answered:
Dear Katharine, make sure you have the correct number of sts on previous row. Insert a marker between each diagram can help you to check number of sts/repeats. Happy crocheting!

De eerste toer van het telpatroon is voor mij onduidelijk .ik heb het als volgt gehaakt A4 1l-2v overslaan-2dst-3l-3v overslaan-2 dsk-4l-2v overslaan en dit herhalen. kunt u zeggen of dit goed is .word er met 24keer bedoeld 24 keer de dubbele stokjes of 24 keer A1 en A2 .ik kom nu aan 30 keer de dst
27.04.2018 - 15:05DROPS Design answered:

For the 8 ch for the sleeve, do you do the 3 chain from the end of A.2? So the chain for the sleeve would be an 11 ch?
11.03.2018 - 16:51DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Robinette, since you need to repeat A.2 you will have to crochet the last 3 chains in A.2 before working the 8 chains - working on sleeve remember 3 of these chains "belong" to body. Happy crocheting!

Can you please tell me how many stitches I should at the end of row 3 of the first A.z on the yoke? Also what number of stitches do I need to divide by 40 for row 4? I am sorry this is so difficult for me but this is probably the most technical pattern I have worked on. Thank you
07.03.2018 - 19:44DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Robinette, on row 3 in A.z you will have the same number of sts as in row 1. You will only increase on the last 2 rows in A.z ie row 4 and 5 (= both sc rows), so 149 + 40 sc = 189 sc at the end of row 4 in first A.z and 189-40= 229 sc at the end of row 5 in first A.z. Work then one more repeat of A.z in height inc 38 sts on row 4 (= 229+38= 267 sc) and 38 sts on row 5 (267+38=305 sc). Happy crocheting!

Ok, I had done the increase on every 4th and 5th stitch and I only got 30 extra stitches giving me a total of 179. If I got 149/40 = 3.425 would I round down to 3 or up to 3.5? When I did an increase on every 3rd and 4th stitch, I got 39 increases for a total of 188. That is close but I am having so much trouble with this. I am even using Excel to figure it out and no matter what I do, I cannot get 40 stitches evenly. Thank you for your help.
07.03.2018 - 18:13DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Robinette, you will have to increase sometimes with 3 sts and sometimes with 4 sts between the increases until you have increased total of 40 sts. Happy crocheting!

Ashley Robinette wrote:
Can you please clarify the first increase for the largest size? I had 149 stitches, need to increase by 40 evenly but not over the beginning and ending 6 stitches. So I did 137÷40 and got 3.425. I took that to mean 3.5 which is 3 sts then inc then 4 sts and inc then 3 again. Every time I do that I end up with 179 stitches. Please help.
07.03.2018 - 02:56DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Robinette, make sure you are increasing 40 sts in this row, you should have then: 6 front band sts, 177 sts, 6 front band sts = 189 sts - you should increase alternately in every 4th st and 5th st so that you work (3 sts, 2 sts in next st) and (4 sts, 2 sts in next st) evenly spaced to get the 40 increases (read more about increasing evenly here. Happy crocheting!

I am,a little bit confused, looking at the jacket on the model in the photo, it looks like there are two rows of tr V stitch, before the 5 tr in chain space, On the diagram I see 1 row of tr V stitch before the 5 tr in chain space. Should the V its line up vertically after the increases. Thank you for any information you may send me .CGM
24.08.2016 - 00:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Murphy, there is only 1 row of V st with 5 tr in the ch-space as in diagram - since you are inc evenly on yoke, the V won't line up after the inc. Happy crocheting!

I've finished the 3rd row of diagram AZ and I have 165 sts. You say that I will have to add 24 sts in each of the last 2 rows. That means that I will end up with 165+48 sts when I finish the diagram. Is this right? Thank you!
18.07.2016 - 13:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Cohen, work now one more repeat of A.Z in height, and when crocheting row 4, inc 22 sts evenly (not 24 sts) = 165+22= 187 sts - and when crocheting row 5, inc 22 sts evenly: 187+22= 209 sts. Read here how to inc evenly. Remember to not inc over A.4 (band sts). Happy crocheting!
