I tried to work your moss pattern several frustrating times. I then watched it on utube. Your pattern is written incorrectly. Row 1 and two are the same, three and FOUR are the same. Then start over again. I am now afraid to work this pattern but sure do like it.

How many skeins ( balls) of this yarn does it require?
27.11.2014 - 01:42DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Harman, you will find requested amount of yarn for every pattern at the right side of the picture under tab "materials" - ie you need here 100 g Nepal / 50 g a ball Nepal = 2 balls Nepal in both sizes. Happy knitting!

Pattern says to cast on 80-88 stitches but I see no direction for how many stitches to cast on for which size. Can you help?
06.11.2014 - 21:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Szabo, first number apply to first size (S/M) and 2nd number to 2nd size (L/XL). So that in size S/M, you will cast on 80 sts, in size L/XL, you will cast on 88 sts. Happy knitting!

Dobrý deň pletie sa táto čiapka na klasických ihliciach alebo na okrúhlych
20.10.2014 - 10:15DROPS Design answered:
Dobrý den, čepici pleteme v řadách, tedy lícovou a rubovou stranu ("tam a zpět") a nakonec sešíváme. Kruhovou jehlici tedy nepotřebujete a můžete plést na klasických rovných. Hodně zdaru! Hana

Hello I have a problem with measurements, because I'm probably knitting tight so for me 10 cm = 19m. I want to adapt measurements but there's something I don't understand: if 17m = 10 cm then 80m = 47 cm which is for the S/M size supposed to fit for 55 cm heads... So should I adapt my measurements so as to have 47 cm or 55 ? It makes a big difference. Thank you !
08.04.2014 - 08:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Leroch, you cast on less sts to let the hat be tigh enough around the head. Happy knitting!

Hei Pben. Du kan sagtens strikke den rundt hvis du hellere vil det. Der er ogsaa brugere som ikke kan strikke paa rundpinne/rundt.

I want to make this hat with yarn that I've got for needles size 6 mm. Does anyone know how many stitches I have to cast on?
27.01.2014 - 00:02DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Veerle, this hat is worked on basis of a tension of 17 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in double moss st. You can recalculate the pattern with your tension or check for another pattern matching your tension. Happy knitting!

When piece measures 20-21 cm / 8"-8 1/4" (make sure that last row worked is from RS), work in GARTER ST - see explanation above - until finished measurements AT THE SAME TIME dec every 4th row as follows: Row 4: Dec 16-18 sts evenly (= approx. every 5th st) = 64-70 sts on needle. Row 8: Dec 13-14 sts (= approx. 5th st) = 51-56 sts. Row 12: Dec 10-11 sts (= approx. 5th st) = 41-45 sts. Row 16: Dec 9-9 sts (= approx. 5th st) = 32-36 sts. Row 20: K 2 tog across = 16-18 sts. Row 24: K 2 tog across = 8-9 sts. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts. Sew hat tog mid back, edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. Hat measures approx. 26-27 cm / 10 1/4"-10½".
