GARTER ST (in the round on needle): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. -------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round. Loosely cast on 88-92 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Nepal. Work in GARTER ST - read explanation above - for 3 cm / 1''. On next round switch to Symphony and double pointed needles size 7 mm / US 10.75 - AT THE SAME TIME dec 18 sts evenly = 70-74 sts. Continue with Symphony in stockinette st until piece measures approx. 17-19 cm / 6 3/4"-7½". Then dec 10-12 sts evenly on every other round a total of 5-4 times = 20-26 sts remain. On next round K2 tog around, cut the thread and pull it through all sts, tighten tog. Piece measures approx. 22-23 cm / 8 3/4"-9" vertically. BOW: PART 1: Loosely cast on 16 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Nepal. K all rows for approx. 5 cm / 2'', loosely bind off. PART 2: Loosely cast on 9 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Nepal. K all rows for approx. 3 cm / 1'', loosely bind off. Sew short sides on PART 2 (not cast on edge and bind off edge) tog in outermost sts. Pull PART 1 through PART 2. Piece measures approx. 26 cm / 10 1/4'' vertically. -------------------------------------------------------- WRIST WARMERS: Worked in the round. Loosely cast on 30-31 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Nepal. Work in GARTER ST - read explanation above - for 3 cm / 1''. On next round switch to Symphony and double pointed needles size 7 mm / US 10.75 - AT THE SAME TIME dec 6 sts evenly = 24-25 sts. Continue with Symphony in stockinette st until piece measures 12-13 cm / 4 3/4"-5 1/8". Then switch to double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 and Nepal - AT THE SAME TIME inc 6 sts evenly on next round = 30-31 sts. Work in garter st for 3 cm / 1'', loosely bind off. Piece measures approx. 15-16 cm / 6"-6 1/4" vertically. BOW: PART 1: Loosely cast on 10 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Nepal. K all rows for approx. 3½ cm / 1 1/4'', loosely bind off. PART 2: Loosely cast on 6 sts on double pointed needles size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Nepal. K all rows for approx. 2 cm / 3/4'', loosely bind off. Sew short sides on PART 2 (not cast on edge and bind off edge) tog in outermost sts. Pull PART 1 through PART 2. Sew bow on to wrist warmer. Knit another wrist warmer and bow the same way. |
