Merci

MEASUREMENT TIP: Because of the weight of the yarn make all measurements while the garment is hanging, otherwise it will be too long when worn. GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. INCREASING TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO inside 1 garter st. On next row K YO into back of loop to avoid a hole. -------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: Worked in the round. Cast on 64-70-76-82-90-100 sts on circular needle size 15 mm / US 19 with Polaris. K 1 round, then work 2 rounds GARTER ST – see above! Insert 2 markers in piece, 1 at beg of round and 1 after 32-35-38-41-45-50 sts. Continue in stockinette st. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! See MEASUREMENT TIP! When piece measures 5 cm / 2" dec 2 sts on back piece by K2 tog AFTER marker-1 and K2 tog BEFORE marker-2. Repeat the dec on front piece (= AFTER marker-2 and BEFORE marker-1) and back piece alternately on every 10-10-10-11-11-11 cm / 4"-4"-4"-4½"-4½"-4½" a total of 4 times = 56-62-68-74-82-92 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm / 15¼"-15¾"-16"-16½"-17"-17¼" bind off 4 sts for armhole each side (= 2 sts each side of marker) = 48-54-60-66-74-84 sts. Put piece aside and knit the sleeves. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 16-16-18-18-18-20 sts on circular needle size 15 mm / US 19 with Polaris. Work 2 rows GARTER ST – see above! Continue in stockinette st with 1 garter st each side. When piece measures 5 cm / 2" inc 1 st inside 1 garter st on left side of piece – See INCREASING TIP! Repeat the inc on the right and left side alternately on every 4-3-3-3-2.5-2.5 cm / 1½"-1"-1"-1"-⅞"-⅞" a total of 10-12-12-12-14-14 times (i.e. 5-6-6-6-7-7 times each side) = 26-28-30-30-32-34 sts. When piece measures 46-46-44-44-44-42 cm / 18"-18"-17¼"-17¼"-17¼"-16½" (less for the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulders) bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows = 22-24-26-26-28-30 sts. Slip piece on a stitch holder. Knit the other sleeve in the same way. YOKE: Worked in the round. Slip sleeves on the same circular needle as body piece where bind off for armholes = 92-102-112-118-130-144 sts. Work next round as follows with Polaris: * K2 tog, K3 *, repeat from *-* a total of 18-20-22-23-26-28 times and finish with K 2-2-2-3-0-4 sts = 74-82-90-95-104-116 sts. P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round. Change to Snow (continue on circular needle size 15 mm / US 19) and work next round as follows: * K1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 148-164-180-190-208-232 sts. K 5-5-6-6-6-7 rounds. Change back to Polaris. Work next round as follows: K2 tog all the way round = 74-82-90-95-104-116 sts. P 1 round, then work next round as follows: * K2 tog, K2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 18-20-22-23-26-29 times and finish with K 2-2-2-3-0-0 = 56-62-68-72-78-87 sts. P 1 round. Change to Snow. Work next round as follows: * K1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 112-124-136-144-156-174 sts. K 5-5-6-6-6-7 rounds. Change to Polaris. K2 tog all the way round = 56-62-68-72-78-87 sts. P 1 round, then work next round as follows: Size S-L: * K2 tog, K2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 14-15-17 times, finish with K 0-2-0= 42-47-51 sts. Size XL-XXXL: * K2 tog, K1 *, repeat from *-* a total of 24-26-29 times = 48-52-58 sts. Work next round as follows: Size S-XXL: P 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME inc 2-1-1-4-0 sts evenly = 44-48-52-52-52 sts. Size XXXL: P 1 round AT THE SAME TIME dec 2 sts evenly = 56 sts. All Sizes: Continue in rib K2/P2. Bind off LOOSELY with K over K and P over P when the rib measures 28 cm / 11". ASSEMBLY: Sew sleeve seams, edge to edge in outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam. Sew openings under arms. TWISTED STRING: Cut 2 strands Polaris measuring approx 500 cm / 5.5 yds each. Twist them until they resist, fold string double and let it twist again. Tie a knot each end. POMPOM: Make 2 pompoms with a diameter of approx 8 cm / 3" in Polaris. Pull thread through first round of the rib. Attach the pompoms to each end of string. |
