Hallo! Da ich das Tuch nur aus insgesamt 15 Quadraten stricken möchte, frage ich mich, wieviel Wolle man für 1 Quadrat braucht?

Hi Birgit, I think it will be around 20 g of yarn. The best way to check it is to make a swatch, using some scrap yarn. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Dee, yes, the amount is the same, but you will have more yarn left over for the smaller one. When 2 balls are required for the large one, 1 ball wouldn't be enough for the small one.

Hello, Are the yarn amounts the same for both sizes? Thank you.

GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round. -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Make a total of 24 squares as follows: Pink dream (161): 6 squares Yellow/pink mix (903), 3 squares Guacamole (151): 3 squares Texmex (153): 3 squares Fun lilac (911): 3 squares Sea mist (910): 3 squares Soft chocolate (912): 3 squares. The squares may be work in different sizes depending on how large you want the shawl. All 24 squares for a shawl must be the same size! For a shawl measuring approx 144 cm / 56½" at the top: work each square until there are 160 sts on needle, each square measures approx 17 x 17 cm / 6¾" x 6¾". For a shawl measuring approx 170 cm / 66¾" at the top: work each square until there are 184 sts on needle, each square measures approx 20 x 20 cm / 8" x 8". SQUARE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles/circular needle. Cast on 8 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Fabel. Distribute sts on 4 double pointed needles with 2 sts per needle. K 1 round and insert a marker in st no 1, 3, 5 and 7. K the sts with marker on every round and work remaining sts in GARTER ST - see above. Continue in the round, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st each side of each st with marker (= 8 inc) on every other round. Inc by making 1 YO, on next round work YO into back of loop to avoid a hole. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 when there are enough sts. Continue like this until there are a total of 160 (or 184 sts) on needle. Bind off. ASSEMBLY: Use the thread end from cast on to tighten the centre of square tog as follows: Sew thread through the outer loop of each of the 8 sts cast on at the beg, tighten the thread and fasten on the WS. Sew the squares tog as shown in Fig.1 (number in square = color number). Sew edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. |
