After ripping out the third time I see another mistake row 6. On the 30 stitch diagram, stitch number 12 should be a purl and 13 a knit. Right?

The charts do not match up. M.2 and M.3 both labeled 16 rows (I assume "p/v" indicates rows in Norwegin?) However, M.3 is actually 18 rows. But since M.2 is 16 and the others are 18, I need to know how to knit the 2 rows that seem to be missing in M.2. Thanks for your help. Rachel, an American knitter.

Dear Mrs Weller, thanks for your feedback, M.3 will be edited into 18 rows. M.2 is only 16 rows, this means, when you have finished the 16 rows in M.2, repeat M.2 from first row and continue M.3 as before (= at the beg of 2nd repeat of M.2, the first 2 rows in M.2 will be worked at the same time as the last 2 rows in M.1 and M.3) and repeat the diagrams as before ie over a different number of rows in height. Happy knitting!

Hana

Det är flera fel i mönsterdiagrammet. Dels så är det 18 varvs höjd på både M1 och M3 och sedan så har den största storleken angetts felaktigt på mönsterdiagrammet.

Knitting gauge: 30 sts x 39 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4". Rib: *K1, P3*, repeat from *-*. Pattern: See diagrams M.1-M.3. The diagram is showing every row in pattern seen from the RS. Decreasing tip (apply to calf): P2 tog before and after the cable mid back. Decreasing for heel: 1st row (= RS): K until there are 9-11-11 sts left on row, slip next st, K1, psso, turn piece 2nd row (= WS): P until there are 9-11-11 sts left on row, slip next st, P1, psso, turn piece 3rd row (= RS): K until there are 8-10-10 sts left on row, slip next st, K1, psso, turn piece 4th row (= WS): P until there are 8-10-10 sts left on row, slip next st, P1, psso, turn piece Continue like this with 1 less st left before each dec until there are 14-16-16 sts left on row. SOCK Worked in the round on double pointed needles with rounds starting from mid back. Cast on 76-84-92 sts on double pointed needles, K1 round and continue in Rib until piece measures 3 cm / 1⅛". K1 round, then P1 round and at the same time inc 6 sts evenly = 82-90-98 sts. Work next round as follows: diagram M.1, P 17-21-22 sts, diagram M.1, diagram M.2, diagram M.3 and P 17-21-22 sts. Continue in pattern like this until piece measures 10 cm / 4". Now insert a marker at beg of round and continue in pattern, at the same time dec 1 st on both sides of the cable mid back – see Decreasing tip – on every cm / ½" a total of 6-7-8 times = 70-76-82 sts. When piece measures 24-25-26 cm / 9½"-9¾"-10¼" dec 10 sts evenly on round (do not dec over sts in M.2) as follows: Dec 3 sts in each cable by knitting sts tog 2 and 2, at the same time dec 1 st by P 2 tog on the remaining sts (to make pattern fit) = 60-66-72 sts. Now keep the first 15-18-18 sts on needle, put the next 30-30-36 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 15-18-18 sts on needle = 30-36-36 sts for heel (insert a marker after 15-18-18 sts). Work 5-5.5-6 cm / 2"-2¼"-2⅜" stockinette sts on heel sts and then dec for heel – see decreasing for heel above. After the heel dec pick up 15-16-18 sts on each side of the heel and the put the 30-30-35 sts from the stitch holder back on double pointed needles = 74-78-88 sts. Continue in stockinette sts on the first 22-24-26 sts, diagram M.2 on the middle 30-30-36 sts and stockinette sts on the remaining 22-24-26 sts. At the same time dec as follows: K the 2 sts before M.2 twisted tog.(i.e. knit into the back part of sts instead of the front) and K tog the first 2 sts after M.2. Dec on every other round a total of 9-8-10 times = 56-62-68 sts. Continue in pattern until piece measures 18-19-21 cm / 7"-7½"-8¼" from marker on heel. Now insert a marker each side (28-31-34 sts between each marker). Continue in stockinette sts on all sts and dec for toe on both sides of each marker as follows: K2 tog, marker, K2 twisted tog. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 4-8-10 times and on every round a total of 7-4-2 times = 12-14-20 sts left. On next round K 2 tog around. Cut the yarn and pull it through remaining sts. Sew tight. |
