Bon crochet!

Crochet gauge: 14 dc x 8.5 rows with 1 strand of each quality with crochet hook size 5 mm / H = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4". -------------------------------------------------------------------- BERET HAT: Crochet info: Replace the first dc at the beg of dc-rows with 3 ch. Finish the row with 1 dc in the 3rd ch from beg of previous row. Replace the first sc at the beg of sc-rows with 1 ch. Finish the row with 1 sl st in ch from beg of previous row. Only crochet through the back loop of sc (not through the whole sc). Decreasing sc: Crochet 2 sc tog to 1 sc as follows: Crochet 1 sc but wait with the last yo and pull through (= 2 sts on hook), crochet next sc and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook – 2 sc is now 1 sc. Beret: Ch 4 with hook size 5 mm / H and 1 strand of each quality and form a ring with a sl st in 1st ch. 1st round: 8 dc in ring – read Crochet info! 2nd round: 2 dc in each dc = 16 dc 3rd round: *1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-* = 24 dc 4th round: *1 dc in each of the first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-* = 32 dc 5th round: *1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-* = 40 dc 6th round: *1 dc in each of the first 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-* = 48 dc 7th round: *1 dc in each of the first 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-* = 56 dc 8th – 13th round: crochet as before with 1 more st between each inc (i.e. inc 8 dc per round) = 104 dc on 13th round. Piece measures approx 30 cm / 11¾". 14th – 18th round: 1 dc in each dc = 104 dc Now continue with sc’s – read Crochet info! 19th round: *6 sc, crochet tog the 7th and 8th sc (see above)*, repeat from *-* = 91 sc 20th round: 1 sc in each sc 21st round: *5 sc, crochet tog the 6th and 7th sc*, repeat from *-* = 78 sc Now crochet 1 sc in each sc until the sc-border measures approx 5 cm / 2". Fasten off. Pompon: Make a pompon in Vivaldi with a diameter of approx 5 cm / 2" and attach to the top of the hat. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MITTENS: Crochet info: Crochet round in sc. Only crochet through the back loop of the sc (not through the whole sc). Decreasing sc: Crochet 2 sc tog to 1 sc as follows: Crochet 1 sc but wait with the last yo and pull through (= 2 sts on hook), crochet next sc and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook – 2 sc is now 1 sc. Mittens: Loosely ch 25-28-31 with hook size 5 mm/ H and 1 strand of each yarn – ch-band measures approx 18-20-22 cm / 7"-8"-8¾", this is the mitten’s circumference. Form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch. Crochet 1 sc in each ch = 25-28-31 sc and continue round with 1 sc in each sc. When piece measures 13-14-15 cm / 5⅛"-5½"-6" make an opening for the thumb by ch 5-5-6 loosely at the beg of round, skip the next 5-5-6 sc and continue round (the opening will be approx 4 cm / 1½" wide, make the opening smaller/bigger by crocheting less/more ch and skip the equivalent no of sc). On next round crochet 1 sc in each of the 5-5-6 ch for thumb opening = 25-28-31 sc. Continue round until piece measures 22-24-26 cm / 8¾"-9½"-10¼" (or desired length, 2 cm / ¾" left until finished measurements). Now dec by crocheting all sc’s tog 2 by 2 around – read Decreasing sc = 13-14-16 sc. Crochet 1 round without dec and dec again on next round = 7-7-8 sc. Crochet 1 more round with dec = 4-4-4 sc. Cut the yarn and pull it through remaining sts and sew tight. Thumb: Crochet 10-10-12 sc round the opening for thumb (1 sc in each of the skipped sc and 1 sc in each of the 5-5-6 ch). Crochet sc round as before. When thumb measures approx 5-5-6 cm / 2"-2"-2½" crochet all sc’s tog 2 by 2 around = 5-5-6 sc. Cut the yarn and pull through remaining sts, sew tight. Crochet another mitten. |
