Hej Susanne, du kan evt strikke blusen i ensfarvet glatstrik og så brodere hestehovedet på med maskesting....

Hello again, thank you very much for your reply above. Could you please recommend an alternative machine washable yarn to Drops Sky & Alpaca for Pattern with horse motif. Many thanks
14.04.2020 - 15:11DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Brummitt, DROPS Cotton Chenille was yarn group B, you can use any other yarn group B that is superwashed (such as Karisma or Merino Extra Fine) - DROPS Pelliza was yarn group A - you can use BabyMerino instead - but these are alternatives for Superwashed yarn ; you'll read more about alternatives here - and remember your DROPS store will provide you any individual assistance choosing a yarn, even per mail or telephone, this might be much easier for you to get the best advices matching your wishes. Happy knitting!

How can these yarns Karisma which is Superwash and Drops Sky/Drops Alpaca which is 30° handwash be used together? I understand that Superwash means the yarn can be 'machine washed'.
10.04.2020 - 08:50DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Brummitt, DROPS Sky and DROPS Alpaca are not superwashed, this means they cannot be maschine wasched, if you are working these yarns together with DROPS Karisma (= superwash yarn) then handwash your work, always follow the instructions for the lower temperatures. Your DROPS store will provide you any further individual assistance and advices. Happy knitting!

Hej!

Sweater in Karisma Superwash with Horse motif
DROPS Children 9-11 |
|||||||||||||||||||
Knitting gauge: 21 sts x 28 rows with Karisma Superwash on needle size 4 mm / US 6 in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4". Rib: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*. Pattern: See diagram. Stockinette st the entire pattern. If it's complicated to knit in all colors at the same time, black can be embroidered on with mattress sts afterwards (see diagram). Work with brown over the symbol of the black if embroidering black afterward. The white of the eye is embroidered on afterwards. Knitting tips: Remember to twist the strands at color changes. Work Pelliza in double strands held together. Important – to avoid stretching the yarn over too many stitches at the color changes use small balls of yarn on each side of the motif. Front piece: Cast on 87-91-99-103 sts (includes 1 edge sts each side) on needle size 3 mm / US 2or3 with Karisma Superwash and work in Rib with 1 edge st each side in garter sts. After 5-5-6-6 cm / 2"-2"-2½"-2½" change to needle size 4 mm / US 6 and continue in stockinette st with edge sts in garter st. Start pattern when stockinette measures 2-5-5-6 cm / ¾"-2"-2"-2½" – see explanation + knitting tips - (make sure to place the motif in the center – count from the marked middle st). REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 32-35-36-37 cm / 12½"-13¾"-14¼"-15½" bind off for armholes in beg of every row, each side: 3 sts 1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 3-3-3-4 times, 1 st 3-4-4-3 times = 63-65-67-69 sts. When piece measures 42-47-48-50 cm / 16½"-18½"-19"-19¾" bind off the middle 9-11-11-13 sts for neck and work each shoulder separately. Continue and bind off on every row from neck to shape the neckline: 2 sts 4 times, 1 st 2 times = 17-17-18-18 m left on shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 48-53-55-57 cm / 19"-21"-21⅝"-22½". Back piece: Cast on and work as front piece – without the motif. Bind off for armholes as described for front piece. Continue until piece measures 47-52-54-56 cm / 18½"-20½"-21¼"-22", now bind off the middle 27-29-29-31 sts for neck and work each shoulder separately. Continue and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 17-17-18-18 sts left on shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 48-53-55-57 cm / 19"-21"-21⅝"-22½". Sleeve: Piece is worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 44-48-48-50 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm / US 2or3 with Karisma Superwash. Knit 5-5-6-6 cm / 2"-2"-2½"-2½" in Rib. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6 and continue in stockinette sts. At the same time, inc 2 sts mid under arm, repeat inc on every 6-6-6-6 rounds a total of 12-12-14-15 times = 68-72-76-80 sts. When piece measures 32-35-39-41 cm / 12½"-13¾"-15¼"-16⅛" bind off 6 sts mid under arm and complete the sleeve back and forth on needle. Bind off for sleeve cap in beg of every row, each side: 2 sts 2-2-3-2 times, 1 st 7-8-9-11 times, 2 st 3-3-3-3 times, 3 st 1-1-1-1 times. Bind off remaining sts when piece measures approx 39-43-48-51 cm / 15¼"-17"-19"-20". Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. With 2 strands red Pelliza pick up approx 90-100 sts around neck on double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6. Work 5-6 cm / 2"-2½" in rib, bind off. Fold the neck edge double towards WS and sew. Sew in the sleeves. |
