CHAUSSONS: Continuer en olive. Tricoter 4 rangs sans augmenter. Diminuer ensuite 1 m au début des 2-2-2-3-3 rangs suivants (soit un total de 4-4-4-6-6 m diminuées de chaque côté) = il reste 46-52-58-62-68 m. Rabattre les mailles restantes.

Love the pattern! Do you think you can leave the ads off at the bottom though? Chews up loads of coloured ink when printing the patterns

Dear Julie, as the patterns come free, some ad on the page is a small price to pay. And you can always change the setting for printing and leave out those pages. Happy Knitting!

Hei!

Knitted and felted frog slippers for children in DROPS Snow.
DROPS Children 22-6 |

SLIPPER: Worked back and forth in one piece and sewn tog mid under foot when finished. The whole slipper is worked in garter st (= K all rows). Cast on 28-32-36-40-42 sts on needle size 9 mm / US 13 with lime. K 3-4-5-6-6 rows. Insert a marker in middle of row. Work next row as follows: K until 1-1-1-2-2 sts remain before marker, make 1 YO, K 2-2-2-4-4 sts and make 1 more YO, K the rest of row. On next row K the YOs twisted to avoid holes (i.e. work in back loop of st) – continue the inc with 1 YO on each side of the middle 2-2-2-4-4 sts on every row until there are 50-56-62-68-74 sts on needle. Switch to olive. Work 4 rows without inc. Then dec 1 st at the beg of the next 4-4-4-6-6 rows (i.e. dec a total of 2-2-2-3-3 sts in each side) = 46-52-58-62-68 sts remain on needle. A total of 22-24-26-30-32 rows have been worked (= 11-12-13-15-16 ridges (1 ridge = 2 rows in garter st). Bind off the remaining sts. Loosely sew tog edge to edge under foot and mid back (avoid a thick edge). EYES: Cast on 2 sts with olive on needle size 9 mm / US 13. Row 1: K 2 sts in each st = 4 sts. Row 2: P all sts. Row 3: K 2 sts in each st = 8 sts. Row 4-6: Work in stockinette st without inc. Row 7: K2 tog across = 4 sts. Row 8: P all sts. Row 9: K2 tog across = 2 sts. Cut the yarn and leave approx. 20 cm / 8'', pull it through the remaining sts. A circle has now been worked, baste the thread around the circle and tighten tog. Work another eye and sew them on top of the slipper. FELTING: Place the slippers in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash at warm 40C/104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the slippers to the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. At subsequent wash, wash the slippers at regular wool program. FACE: Sew on a red mouth, 2 black stitches for nostrils and sew white and black on the eyes as on picture. AFTER FELTING: If the piece is not felted enough and is too big: Wash the piece one more time in the washing machine while it is still wet add a terry towel that measures approx. 50 x 70 cm = 19¾" x 27½" - NOTE: Do not use a short program. If the piece has been felted too much and is too small: While the piece is still wet stretch it to the correct measurements, if the piece is dry, make sure to soak it first. Remember: All subsequent washes are as a normal wool garment. |
