Catherine, yes it's an increase, and best is to knit first in the front of stitch then into back of same stitch.

Hello, I have a question. In the M.2 pattern for the instruction "slip 1 st on cable needle behind piece, K2, K2 in st on cable needle" is the K2 in st on cable an increase? Like Make One or something? If it has an increase do you have a preferred way of doing it? Thanks!

Hi, this is really lovely and I'd like to knit it, but I don't know what size to make. Can you please supply head circumference measurements to supplement the S/M and M/L sizing? Thank you very much.

PATTERN: See diagram M.2 - diagram shows repeat as seen from RS. -------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round from bottom edge towards the top. Cast on 84-96 sts with Nepal on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4. Work 10 rounds rib, P3/K3 – NOTE: Beg with P3. Work next round as follows: * P3, K1, 1 YO, K1, 1 YO, K2, P1, K2, 1 YO, K1, 1 YO, K1 *, repeat from *-* to end = 112-128 sts. Change to circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Continue as follows: * P3, M.2 (K YO from previous round into back of loop to avoid a hole) *, repeat from *-* to end (= 7-8 repeats). Change to double pointed needles when sts no longer fit circular needle. After M.2 there are 42-48 sts on needle. On next round work all P3 tog to P1 = 28-32 sts. On next round K2 tog to end = 14-16 sts. Cut the thread and pull through remaining sts twice, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx 24 cm / 9½". |
