Continue in reverse stockinette st with 1 edge st each side. Remember the knitting gauge! When piece measures 10 cm [4"] dec 1 st each side, and repeat the dec on every 4.5-4.5-5-5-5-5 cm [1¾"-1¾"-2"-2"-2"-2"] a total of 8 times = 46-50-54-59-65-71 sts. Continue until piece measures 63-65-67-69-71-73 cm [24¾"-25½"-26⅜"-27⅛"-28"-28¾"] and now bind off the middle 8-8-10-11-11-11 sts for neck. P 1 row from WS and then work 6 rows garter st. Continue in reverse stockinette st with 6 garter sts towards mid front (= front band). When piece measures 10 cm [4"] dec at side as described for back piece = 29-31-33-36-39-42 sts. Remember to bind off for buttonholes – see above. Now read all of the following section before continuing! When piece measures 40-42-44-46-48-50 cm [15¾"-16½"-17¼"-18"-19"-19¾"] inc 1 st towards mid front on every 7 cm [2¾"] a total of 4 times. Work inc sts in garter st. At the same time when piece measures 42-44-46-47-49-50 cm [16½"-17¼"-18"-18½"-19"-19¾"] incl 1 extra st in front band (i.e. no of sts remain the same, but no of garter sts inc and no of stockinette sts dec) on every 5-5-4-3-3-3 cm [2"-2"-1½"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"] a total of 5-5-6-7-7-7 times. At the same time when piece measures 46-47-48-49-50-51 cm [18"-18½"-19"-19¼"-19¾"-20"] bind off for armhole at side as described for back piece. When all inc for collar and dec for armhole are complete there are 28-28-29-30-31-31 sts on row (15-15-16-17-17-17 garter sts on front band and 13-13-13-13-14-14 stockinette sts on shoulder). Continue until piece measures 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm [25½"-26⅜"-27⅛"-28"-28¾"-29½"]. Bind off 13-13-13-13-14-14 sts for shoulder and work remaining sts on row = 15-15-16-17-17-17 sts on collar. Work shortened rows on collar sts as follows (first row = RS): * Work 2 rows garter st on 7-7-8-8-9-9 sts only, work 2 rows garter st on all sts *, repeat from *-* until collar measures 7-7-8-8-8-8 cm [2¾"-2¾"-3⅛"-3⅛"-3⅛"-3⅛"] (measured where longest) from shoulder. Bind off loosely. LEFT FRONT PIECE Like right front piece, but mirrored and without buttonholes. SLEEVES Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 66-68-70-72-78-80 sts on small circular needle size 7 mm [US 10½] with Puddel. Insert 5 Marking Threads (MT) in piece with approx 13-13-14-14-15-16 sts between each. Work 16 rows garter st – see above – and continue in reverse stockinette st. When piece measures 10 cm [4"] dec 1 st to the right and to the left alternately of all MT on every 11-11-11-10.5-10.5-10 cm [4⅜"- 4⅜"- 4⅜"-4¼"-4¼"-4"] a total of 4 times = 46-48-50-52-58-60 sts. When piece measures 47-47-47-46-45-43 cm [18½"-18½"-18½"-18"-17¾"-17"] –less on the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder - bind off 3 sts on each side of one of the MT (= mid under sleeve), and complete piece back and forth on needle. Bind off to shape the sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 1 times, 1 st 2-3-3-4-5-6 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 55-56-56-57-57-58 cm [21⅝"-22"-22"-22½"-22½"-22¾"], now bind off 3 sts each side 1 time and K all sts tog 2 by 2 on next row. Bind off remaining sts, piece measures approx 56-57-57-58-58-59 cm [22"-22½"-22½"-22¾"-22¾"-23¼"]. ASSEMBLY Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams inside 1 edge st. Set in sleeves. Sew collar tog mid back and sew to neckline. Sew on buttons. |
