Shouldn't there be a chain 2 at beginning of each row to compensate for height of double crochet?

Dear Vicki, you can work 1 ch at the beg of every row to replace 1st dc (or crochet this extra) - UK-dc = US-sc - read more here. Happy crocheting!

Dove posso acquistare on line il filato Drops muskatsoft red ? - non lo trovo da nessuna parte
11.07.2013 - 15:04DROPS Design answered:

Decreasing tip: Dec 1 sc as follows: work 1 sc but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), work next sc and now pull thread through all 3 sts on hook. Cap: Crochet 4 ch with crochet hook size 3.5 mm [US E/4] and Muskat Soft and form a ring with a sl st in first ch. Round 1: 5 sc in ring and finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. Round 2: 2 sc in each sc = 10 sc. Finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. Round 3: "2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next sc*, repeat from *-* = 15 sc. Finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. Round 4: *2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc*, repeat from *-* = 20 sc. Finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. Insert a Marking Thread (MT) at beg of round and now continue in the round with 1 sc in each sc (do not finish each round with a sl st). At the same time inc 5 sc evenly on each round. Inc in the same place as the previous round, i.e. 1 additional sc between each inc. The circle will gradually become a pentagon. Continue like this until there are a total of 17-18-19 rounds = 85-90-95 sc on round (piece measures approx 3,2"-3½"-4"). Continue in the round with 1 sc in each sc until piece measures 6,25"-6,75"-7" from the centre. Remember the crochet gauge! Now work brim as follows: *1 sc in first sc, 1 sc in second sc and 2 sc in third sc*, repeat from *-* a total of 10-11-12 times = 40-44-48 sc. Turn piece and work return row with 1 sc in each sc. Continue back and forth with 1 sc in each sc, at the same time dec 1 sc each side – see Decreasing tip – on every other row a total of 5 times = 30-34-38 sc. Cut the thread and fasten. Border: Crochet a border with crochet hook size 3.5 mm [US E/4] and pink Muskat round the whole cap as follows: 1 sc at beg of round, *1 ch, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in sc from beg of round. Button cover: Crochet 1 cover with crochet hook size 3.5 mm [US E/4] and pink Muskat as follows: 2 ch, then 16 dc in the first ch, finish with 1 sl st at the top of first dc (= round 1) Round 2: 1 sc in each dc and finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round = 16 sc. Round 3: 3 ch and then 1 dc in every other sc, finish with 1 sl st in third ch from beg of round = 8 dc. Put button inside cover, sew round the edge of cover and tighten thread. Sew on button to cap mid top. |
