40 M kraus re, 2 li, 6 x ( 2 li, 1 re) d.h. 18 M, 2 re, 4 kraus re = 66 M

Gauge: 21 sts x 28 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: * K 2, P 1 *, repeat from * - *. Knitting tips (for neck shaping): All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st inside 23-26-26-26-29 rib sts as follows: After rib sts: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before rib sts: K 2 tog. Front: The front is initially knit in two pieces, then joined for the center cable. Left side: Cast on 56-62-66-72-80 sts on smaller needles. Knit the first row as follows (right side): 33-36-40-46-51 sts in garter st, P 2, * K 2, P 1 *, repeat from * - * over 15-18-18-18-21 sts, K 2 and K 4 (edge sts knit in garter st) – this edge is the center front. Knit garter and rib as established for 4 rows, change to larger needles. Establish pattern on the next row as follows: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), stockinette st over 32-35-39-45-50 sts, and rib and garter st as before over the remaining sts. Knit as established until the piece measures 14-15-15-16-16 cm, then put the 33-36-40-46-51 first sts on a st holder = st holder-1. Then knit 6 rows over only the 23-26-26-26-29 sts at the center front – knit the 2 first P sts in garter st and on the last row K 2 tog the 4 outermost sts in garter st = 21-24-24-24-27 sts – put these sts on st holder-2. Lay piece aside. Right side: Cast on and knit the same as the left but reverse all shaping. Put 1 edge st + 32-35-39-45-50 stockinette st sts on st holder-3 and after 6 rows put the remaining 21-24-24-24-27 sts on st holder-4. Front: The 2 front pieces are now joined together in a cable at center front. Knit as follows from right side: 33-36-40-46-51 sts from st holder-1 (= stockinette st) and 21-24-24-24-27 sts from st holder-4 (knit the same as established, but now P the 2 first sts instead of garter st) = 54-60-64-70-78 sts. Knit in pattern as established (stockinette st and rib) until the piece measures 28-30-30-32-32 cm – measure on the stockinette st part. Put the first 33-36-40-46-51 sts back on st holder-1. Continue over only the 21-24-24-24-27 sts at the center front – on the 1st row K 2 sts in each of the 2 P sts closest to the stockinette st part, then K these 4 sts in garter st. After 6 rows put the 23-26-26-26-29 sts back on st holder-4 and set aside. Now knit the other side: this side of the cable lies under the first side, knit as follows: 21-24-24-24-27 sts from st holder-2, 33-36-40-46-51 sts from st holder-3 = 54-60-64-70-78 sts. Knit in the same manner as the other side – remember to inc 2 sts in the 2 P sts closest to the stockinette st and knit these 4 sts in garter st. Put sts back on st holder-2 and st holder-3. Continue on left side as follows: 33-36-40-46-51 sts from st holder-1 (= stockinette st) and 23-26-26-26-29 sts from st holder-2 (knit the same as established but P the 2 first sts in garter st) = 56-62-66-72-80 sts. Continue until the piece measures 32-32-34-36-36 cm on the stockinette st part. Read the entire section before knitting: Now dec 1 st inside of the rib-sts for the neck – see knitting tips: every other row 7-10-8-9-9 times and then every 4 rows 12-11-12-12-13 times. When the piece measures 37-38-39-40-41 cm bind off for armhole at the side every other row: 4 sts 0-0-1-1-1 time, 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 1-1-2-4-4 times and 1 st 2-3-2-3-4 times. After armhole and neck shaping is complete 30-33-33-33-36 sts remain on shoulder. When the piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm (on the stockinette st part) put the 4 sts in garter st at center front on st holder and bind off the remaining 26-29-29-29-32 sts. Right side: This side of cable lies under the first side. 23-26-26-26-29 sts from st holder-4, 33-36-40-46-51 sts from st holder-3 = 56-62-66-72-80 sts. Knit the same as left side. Back: Cast on 90-98-108-118-132 sts on smaller needles. Knit 4 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 16 and 22 cm dec 1 st at each side = 86-94-104-114-128 sts. When the piece measures 28 and 34 cm inc 1 st at each side = 90-98-108-118-132 sts. When the piece measures 37-38-39-40-41 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 4 sts 0-0-1-1-1 time, 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 1-1-2-4-4 times and 1 st 2-3-2-3-4 times = 76-82-82-82-88 sts. When the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm bind off the center 22 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 26-29-29-29-32 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 48-52-52-54-58 sts on smaller needles. Knit 4 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 8 cm knit 4 rows garter st, then stockinette st again. When the piece measures 10 cm inc 1 st at each side every 3-3-2.5-2-2 cm a total of 13-13-15-17-17 times = 74-78-82-88-92 sts. When sleeve measures 49-49-48-46-44 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 2-2-2-2-1 times, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 1-2-4-6-10 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 55-55-56-56-56 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. The piece measures approx. 56-56-57-57-57 cm, bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: Put the 4 sts in garter st from one side of front back on larger needles and knit garter st for 5-6 cm (slightly less than to center back so that the neckband will not stretch out), then put sts on a st holder. Repeat on the other side. Weave the 2 ends of neckband together and stitch to back neck. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. |
