Liebe Greta, die Markierung beim Handrücken soll man so verschieben: (alte Markierung), 2 Maschen, neue Markierung, 18-21 Maschen, neue Markierung, 2 Maschen (alte Markierung). Viel Spaß beim stricken!

MITTENS IN ALASKA. Garter Stitch, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Garter Stitch, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl *. Repeat from * - *. Pattern 4: * 2 rows stockinette st, purl 1 row * (seen from the right side). Mittens: The numbers in ( ) = Men’s sizes. Cast on 42 (48) sts; join and knit garter st for 3 cm [1.25"]. On the next row dec 4 sts evenly distributed = 38 (44) sts. Knit Pattern 4 for 5 cm [2"]. After Pattern 4 attach 3 markers as follows: 1 marker, 1 thumb-st (stockinette st), 1 marker (= at the side), 22 (25) sts on top of the hand, 1 marker (= at the side), 15 (18) sts on the hand. Continue in stockinette st - measure the work from here. When the work measures 1 cm [3/8"] inc 1 st on each side of the thumb-st every other row 5 times = 48 (54) sts. When the work measures 6.5 (7) cm [2.5" (2.75")] put the center 11 (11) sts for the thumb on a stitch holder. On the next row cast on 1 new st inside the sts on the st holder = 38 (44) sts. When the work measures 15 (16) cm [5-7/8" (6.25")] move the markers 2 sts up on the hand (1 marker on each side of the mitten). Then dec 1 st on each side of the markers as follows: Before the marker: slip 1, K 1, psso. After the marker: K 1, K 2 tog Dec 1 st each side of markers 2 (3) times every other row and then every row until 6 (4) sts remain on the needles. Pull a double strand through the last sts and tie off the strand. The entire mitten measures approx. 27 (29) cm [10-5/8" (11-3/8")]. Thumb: Pick up a total of 15 (18) sts around the thumb and knit stockinette st. When the thumb measures 6.5 (7) cm [2.5" (2.75")] K 2 tog across the next row and pull a doubled strand through the remaining sts. Knit another mitten, reversing all shaping. HAT IN ALASKA: Double Seed Stitch (on an even number of sts): Row 1: * K 1, P 1 * Row 2: * K 1, P 1 * Row 3: * P 1, K 1 * Row 4: * P 1, K 1 * Repeat Rows 1-4. Garter Stitch, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Garter Stitch, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl *. Repeat from * - *. Ear flap: Cast on 3 (3) sts on double pointed needles. Knit garter st back and forth on the needles, inc 1 st at each side (make increases 1 st in from the edge for a smoother edge) every other row 10 (11) times = 23 (25) sts - the work measures approx. 8.5 (9) cm [3-3/8" (3.5")]. Put the ear flap aside and knit another one. Hat: Cast on 19 (20) sts between the ear flaps for the back of the hat = 65 (70) sts. Knit 6 rows garter st over all sts, increasing 1 st at each side of the work every 3rd row 2 (2) times = 69 (74) sts. Now loosely cast on 23 (26) sts for the center front = 92 (100) sts on the needles. Join, being careful not to twist the sts - measure the work from here. Knit 2 rows garter st, then continue in double seed st. When the work measures approx. 10 (11) cm [4" (4.25")] (adjust to end with the 1st or 3rd row of double seed st) knit 3 rows garter st, decreasing 14 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 78 (86) sts. Knit 4 rows of double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 6 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 72 (80) sts. Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 8 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 64 (72) sts. Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 4 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 54 (62) sts. Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 10 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 44 (52) sts. Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 10 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 34 (42) sts. Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 12 sts evenly distributed on the 3rd row = 22 (30) sts. Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 8 sts evenly distributed on the row = 14 (20) sts. Sizes M/L: Knit 4 rows double seed st, 3 rows garter st, dec 6 sts evenly distributed on the row = 14 sts. Sizes S/M+M/L: Knit 4 cm [1.5"] double seed st over the 14 sts, pull a doubled strand of yarn through the sts and pull together the sts and tie off the strand. Crochet 1 row of single crochet (sc) around the bottom of the hat and ear flaps. Make a tassel band as follows: Chain 10 cm [4"], turn the work and work a row of sc. Make 2 such bands which are 10 cm [4"] in length and 1 band which is 5 cm [2"] in length. Attach the longer tassel bands at the tips of the ear flaps and the short band to the top of the hat. Make 3 tassels as follows: Cut 16 strands approx. 16 cm [6.25"] in length, tie a strand (approx. 20 cm [7-7/8"] in length) around the center and fold all the strands over double at the knotted center strand, wind a new strand (approx. 25 cm [9-7/8"] in length) 3 times around all the strands approx. 1 cm [3/8"] down from the center, tie a knot and cut off. Attach a tassel to each band. |
