How I can start by working the turn-up from the wrong side, so the twisted stitches are on the right side when the edge is folded up?
24.01.2025 - 13:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Petya, you work as indicated in the pattern; just take into account that the side you are working on the first 8cm is the wrong side. After 8 cm you turn the piece so that you will from now on work on the right side (but the right side of the fold-up will look correct). To avoid holes when turning the work you can turn using the German short rows technique; watch the following video for more information: https://www.garnstudio.com/video.php?id=1794&lang=en. Happy knitting!

Komme dem Diagram nicht nach?
25.11.2024 - 22:02DROPS Design answered:
Runde dann in jeder Runde abnehmen.

Using this pattern how do you turn and work in the opposite direction without getting a hole?
12.01.2023 - 22:46DROPS Design answered:
Hi Bunny, When you have finished the rib and are turning the hat inside out, you can pick up the strand between 2 stitches in the transition and work it together with the next stitch. This avoids a hole. Happy knitting!

Tak for information :)

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Choose diagram for you size. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. The turn-up is worked from the wrong side, then the piece is turned and finished from the right side. Change to double pointed needles when necessary after decreasing stitches at the top. HAT: Start by working the turn-up from the wrong side, so the twisted stitches are on the right side when the edge is folded up: Cast on 90-100-110-120 stitches with circular needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and DROPS Sky. Knit 1 round. Work rib in the round (knit 1 twisted, purl 1) for 8-9-10-11 cm = 3⅛"-3½"-4"-4⅜". Work the rest of the hat from the right side by turning and working in the opposite direction. Continue the rib (knit 1 twisted, purl 1). REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! Work until the hat measures 22-22½-23-25 cm = 8¾"-8⅞"-9"-9¾" (including the 8-9-10-11 cm = 3⅛"-3½"-4"-4⅜" turn-up); there is approx. 6-7½-8-8 cm = 2⅜"-2⅞"-3⅛"-3⅛" left to finished length. Choose diagram for your size and work A.1 over all stitches (5 repeats of 18-20-22-24 stitches) – i.e. continue with knit twisted over knit twisted and purl over purl decreasing as shown in diagram. When A.1 is finished in height there are 10-10-10-10 stitches left. Cut the strand and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 28-30-31-33 cm = 11"-11¾"-12¼"-13" from the cast-on edge. Fold up the bottom 8-9-10-11 cm = 3⅛"-3½"-4"-4⅜". |
