GARTER ST (in the round on double pointed needles):
* K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds.

GARTER ST (back and forth):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows.
--------------------------------------------------------

SLIPPER:

LEG:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 28-32-36-36-40-44 sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm / US 8 with Peak. K 1 round. Then work rib with K 2/P 2 until piece measures approx. 8-9-10-11-12-13 cm / 3 1/8''-3½''-4''-4 3/8''-4¾''-5 1/8''. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE

FOOT:
Now keep the first 12-12-12-14-14-14 sts on the round on the needle, slip the remaining 16-20-24-22-26-30 sts on 1 stitch holder. Continue in GARTER ST - see explanation above - back and forth over the 12-12-12-14-14-14 sts - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st) = 14-14-14-16-16-16 sts. When middle piece measures 4-4-5-6-6-7 cm / 1½"-1½"-2"-2 3/8"-2 3/8"-2 3/4", dec 1 edge st in each side = 12-12-12-14-14-14 sts. Then slip the sts from stitch holder back on needle and pick up 7-7-9-10-10-12 sts on each side of middle part (inside 1 edge st) = 42-46-54-56-60-68 sts on needle. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE. Insert 1 marker mid front of toe and 1 marker mid back on heel and work in the round in GARTER ST - see explanation above. When piece measures 2 cm / 3/4'', K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per round) continue dec until piece measures 3-3-4-4-5-5 cm / 1 1/8''-1 1/8''-1½''-1½''-2''-2''. Bind off all sts and sew seams under foot in outer loops of edge sts to avoid a chunky seam.

Knit another slipper the same way.

Vanda 22.12.2015 - 15:45:

Hallo, is it normal for this pattern to be made with a 5 mm needle since it is a type E ? I want to make this pattern with Andes, and I want to know if the gauge 17x22 is really ok with Andes. Thank you.

DROPS Design 22.12.2015 kl. 19:13:

Dear Vanda, tension is correct, make sure the needle size you require to get this gauge, you may need 5 mm or smaller/larger depending on how loose/tight you are working. Happy knitting!
