Row 2 (= WS): Work until 7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Row 3 (= RS): Work until 6 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 4 (= WS): Work until 6 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 less st before slipping 1 st until there are 12 sts on needle. ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK 1: Cast on 56 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4 with wine red. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 2 cm / ¾". K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 8 sts evenly = 48 sts. Switch to gray, then work according to diagram A-1. Continue like this until piece measures 10 cm / 4". On next round, keep the first 12 sts on needle for heel, slip the next 24 sts on a stitch holder (= mid on top of foot) and keep the last 12 sts on needle for heel. Continue in stockinette st back and forth with wine red over the 24 heel sts for 5 cm / 2". Insert a marker in middle of piece. Then work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above.
