Turn. ROW 6: ch 7, in first ch-space work (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr), work 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 6, 1 sc in next ch-space, in next ch-space work (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr), work 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 6, 1 sc in next ch-space, in next ch-space work (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr) + 2 ch + 1 tr (= middle) + 2 ch + (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr), work 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 6, 1 sc in next ch-space, in next ch-space work (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr), work 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 6, 1 sc in next ch-space, in next ch-space work (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr) + 3 ch + 1 dtr = 14 ch-spaces. Turn. Now continue the same way, but with inc, i.e. work as follows: ROW 7: ch 7, 1 dc in first ch-space, ch 4, * 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 4, in next ch-space work 1 dc + 6 ch + 1 dc, work 4 ch *, repeat from *-* 1 more time (= 1 inc), 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 4, skip 1 ch-space, in next dc work 1 dc + 6 ch (= middle) + 1 dc, work ch 4, skip 1 ch-space, 1 sc in next ch-space, * ch 4, in next ch-space work 1 dc + 6 ch + 1 dc, work ch 4, 1 sc in next ch-space *, repeat from *-* 1 more time (= 1 inc), work ch 4, in next ch-space work 1 dc + 3 ch + 1 dtr = 19 ch-spaces. Turn. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! Repeat 7th and 8th row (but with 1 inc more on each side of the middle on every row) until piece measures approx. 28 cm / 11'' measured along the middle of shawl - adjust according to 7th row. Turn. Repeat 2nd-5th row until piece measures approx. 58 cm / 22 3/4'' measured along the middle of shawl - adjust according to 2nd or 4th row - NOTE: No of ch-spaces on each side of ch-space in the middle must be divisible by 3 before continuing. Now work the two rows according to A.1, i.e. work as follows: Work 8th and 7th row the same way as before with inc, and replace (1 tr + 6 ch + 1 tr) with (3 tr + 2 ch + 3 tr). Repeat the two rows until piece measures approx. 77 cm / 30½'' measured along the middle of shawl - adjust according to 8th row. Fasten off. |
