Crochet: IN and AROUND stitches.

Tags: chart, fan pattern, lace,

In this DROPS video we show the difference between crochet IN a stitch and AROUND a stitch, as it is done in many of our patterns, including 162-15. We have already worked a bit of a chart. In the first row we show how to work 1 single crochet (sc) AROUND the ch-loop and then 9 double crochet (dc) AROUND the next ch-loop. In the last stitch on the row we have worked 1 dc IN a stitch. In the 2nd row, we show how we work dc IN the stitches and 1 sc AROUND a ch-loop. But REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern/look at the chart to be able to follow. The text in the chart is written in US. UK - US 1 ch = 1 ch 1 dc around st = 1 sc around st 1 dc in st = 1 sc in st 1 tr in st = 1 dc in st 1 tr around st = 1 dc around st To see a pattern with this technique, go to: DROPS 162-15

The video above can be used in the following patterns

DROPS Design 10.11.2017 - 08:34:

Liebe Jasmin, 1 dc (US-Wörter)/tr (UK-Wörter) ist 1 Stäbchen (= 1 Umschlag) aber 1 tr (US-Wörter)/dtr (UK-Wörter) ist 1 Doppelstäbchen (= 2 Umschläge) - siehe Wortliste hier, hdc (US) = htr (UK) = hStb. Viel Spaß beim häkeln!

Hej!

One I think it would be helpful if the tutorial was accompanied with voice instructions, and, Two if you are going to show a pattern you should be able to answer some basic to moderate questions on the pattern ie multiples to make larger or smaller. Like the pattern but don't think it is fair that you refer to the Drops design each time.

Dear Meme, Our videos do not have sound: We are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people around the world, speaking different languages, many of whom do not understand English. We have therefore written instructions to accompany this video, and there is no sound to disturb while watching. This video is a standard video showing the difference between crocheting in stitches and around stitches. You have then to follow the diagram of the pattern you are working. Remember you will get any further personnal assistance from your DROPS store. Happy crocheting!

I would like to make this as a shawl (Wider, but shorter). In what multiple do I increase and what section would be the repeat?
