I'm a beginner, please help! I'm at the beginning :( I did my first row of chains and then it says- work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (= 2 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 6-2-2 ch, . Does this mean to chain 3 and then turn the fabric and do a 1dc in the 4th chain, and when it says (=2dc), does that mean do it again and then I'm totally lost with the 6-2-2 ch. Sorry I'm having so much trouble. Any help would be so much appreciated!

Dear Amanda, 1st row is worked in dc, first 3 ch = 1st dc, so when you crochet 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, the first 3 ch = 1st dc + 1 dc just made = 2 dc. Then you continue working in dc skipping some ch (so that edge will not be too tight): you skip 6 ch in 1st size and 2 ch in 2 largest size. Happy crocheting!

Buongiorno, vorrei sapere se all'inizio devo chiudere in cerchio le catenelle e lavorare in tondo tutto il poncho, oppure si lavora aperto e poi si cuce una volta terminato. Grazie!

Buongiorno Cinzia. Il poncho viene lavorato in tondo. Provvederemo a specificarlo meglio. Eventuali ulteriori modifiche alla spiegazione verranno apportate direttamente nel testo on line. Grazie e buon lavoro!

CROCHET INFO: Replace first dc at beg of every dc round with 3 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. Replace first sc at beg of every sc round with 1 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 dc by working 2 dc in one dc. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Continue pattern the entire round, and finish with 1 sl st at beg of round. CROCHET TIP: At beg of every round (in diagram A.1) with lace pattern work transition between round as follows after 1 sl st in first ch on previous round: Work 2 sl sts up along ch-space from previous round, 1 ch. Continue with ch 5, 1 sc in next ch-space. Continue as before with ch-spaces around the entire round. REVERSE CROCHET: Work as sc but backwards. I.e. crochet around from left to right ---------------------------------------------------------- PONCHO: The piece is worked top down. Work 130-142-158 ch on hook size 4.5 mm/US 7 with Cotton Light. Turn piece, and work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (= 2 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 6-2-2 ch, * skip ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 7 ch *, repeat from *-* 14-16-18 more times (= 15-17-19 times in total) = 113-123-137 dc. Continue to work in the round as follows: 1 dc in every dc – READ CROCHET TIP! AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 4 cm / 1½", inc 20-27-32 dc evenly on round (i.e. work 2 dc in 1 dc approx. every 5-4-4 dc) – READ INCREASE TIP! There are now 133-150-169 dc on round. Repeat same inc when piece measures 7 cm / 2¾", but now inc 1 dc approx. every 6-5-5 dc = 153-177-201 dc. Continue to work as follows: ROUND 1 (= ROUND 2 in diagram A.1): Work PATTERN – READ CROCHET TIP. Continue pattern the entire round, and finish with 1 sl st in first ch at beg of round. Repeat this pattern until there are 3 stripes with ch-spaces vertically and piece measures 34 cm / 13½". Then continue dc for 7-9-11 cm / 2¾"-3½"-4½", AT THE SAME TIME on next round inc 10 dc evenly on round. When piece measures 41-43-45 cm / 16"-17"-17¾", finish with 1 round REVERSE CROCHET – see explanation above. Fasten off. |
