Just completed the first bun, and again is doming. Very disappointed with spending time and money for a project that doesn’t work. Cohhts came up correct with each row and gauge is spot on and all stitches look same.

Dear Mrs Estes, it's not supposed to make a dome, you should have a flat circle crocheting single crochets (US-English terminology - make sure you are not reading UK-patern where UK-double crochets are US-single crochets). Hope it can help. Feel free to show your work to your yarn store, even showing them a picture per mail, this could be useful for them to helm you seing what you did. Hope it can help. Happy crocheting!

Working everything in the round, it domes up in the middle and will not lay flat. How do I avoid this issue?
29.05.2022 - 13:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Shera, if it domes up is because of a mistake in the gauge, which is a common error. This means that you started working too loose and then started to tighten the gauge. You also need to pay attention to the amount of stitches, to not add or remove any stitches, which may end up deforming the final product. Happy crocheting!

MAGIC CIRCLE: When piece is worked in the round, start with this technique to avoid holes in the middle. Hold the yarn end and wind the yarn one time around the index finger to make a loop. Hold the loop with left thumb and middle finger, place the yarn over left index finger. Insert hook through the loop, make a YO and pull yarn through loop, work ch 1, then work sc around the loop. When the desired no of sc have been reached, pull the yarn end to tighten the loop. Fasten the yarn end on the back side. Continue to work in the round in a circle. WORK IN THE ROUND IN A CIRCLE: After last sc on the round, continue to next round with 1 sc in next sc (= first sc from previous round). NOTE: Insert a marker at the beg of round between last sc and first sc on the round, move the marker upwards. CROCHET INFO: Replace first sc on every row with a ch.
