PULLOVER: Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: * K 5, P 5 *, repeat from * - *. Stripe pattern: See chart. The pattern is knit entirely in stockinette st. The pattern repeats to finished measurements. Knitting tip: To avoid having to cut the yarn and tuck in all those ends, knit the sweater on circular needles, carry the yarn up, and begin the row on the side where the yarn is located. Front: Cast on 76-82-90-96-102 sts on smaller circular needles with natural Paris and knit 4 rows garter st. Change to larger circular needles and stockinette st following Stripe Pattern, and keeping 4 sts at each side in garter st for the edge of the side split. When the piece measures 14 cm end side split and cast on 1 new sts at each side = 78-84-92-98-104 sts. Knit stockinette st over all sts. When the piece measures 15 cm inc 1 st at each side every 8-8-9-9-9 cm a total of 3 times = 84-90-98-104-110 sts. Read the entire section before knitting: V-neck: When the piece measures 36-37-38-40-41 cm divide the piece at center front and put half of the sts on a st holder. 1st side: = 42-45-49-52-55 sts. Dec 1 st at the neck edge every other row: 14-14-15-16-16 times and every 4 rows: 4 times. Armhole: When the piece measures 39-40-41-42-43 cm bind off for armhole at the side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 1-2-3-3-4 times and 1 st 4-4-5-4-4 times. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 15-16-16-16-17 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 58-60-62-64-66 cm. 2nd side: Put sts from st holder back on needles and knit the same as the 1st side, reversing shaping. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front = 66-68-70-72-74 sts. When the piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm bind off the center 34-34-36-38-38 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 15-16-16-16-17 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 58-60-62-64-66 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 42-42-52-52-52 sts on smaller circular needles with natural Paris. Knit rib, keeping 1 edge st at each side in garter st, for 15 cm. Change to larger circular needles and stockinette st, following Stripe Pattern to finished measurements. When the piece measures 15-17-15-15-17 cm inc 1 st at each side every 3.5-2.5-4-3-2 cm a total of 9-11-8-10-12 times = 60-64-68-72-76 sts. When sleeve measures 47-46-45-44-43 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 2-2-6-7-8 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 54-54-55-55-55 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. Bind off the remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 55-55-56-56-56 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: Pick up approx. 117-137 sts (divisible by 10 + 7) around the neck on smaller circular needles with natural Paris – start picking up at center front. Knit back and forth on needles as follows: K 2 rows garter st, then knit the next row as follows (wrong side row): K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * P 5, K 5 *, repeat from * - * and finish with P 5 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). When neckband measures 6 cm bind off all sts in rib. Lay right neckband edge over left at center front and sew the garter st edges on both to the picked up edges. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance, leaving side split open. Round 4: 1 sc in each sc but in every 3rd sc crochet 2 sc = 32 sc. Continue in the same manner as Round 4, but crochet 1 sc more between each inc, so on Round 5 inc in every 4th sc, then in every 5th sc on Round 6, and so on. Continue until piece measures approx. 14 cm / 5½" in diameter (= 88 sc on round). Now crochet 1 sc in each sc. When the piece measures 13 cm/ 6" from center crochet 2 rounds with grey green , 4 rounds with off white and then 2 rounds with grey green. Then crochet the rest with off white. When the piece measures 18 cm/ 7" from center crochet 1 extra sc in every 3rd sc (= approx. 117-118 sc). Then crochet 10 rounds with 1 sc in each sc. Cut yarn. |
