Bon tricot!

What size is the model wearing?
01.07.2021 - 07:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Klein, she might be wearing either a Size S or M on the picture, the best way to find out your size is to measure a similar garment you have and like the shape and compare these measurements to those in the chart. Read more about measurements and sizing here. Happy knitting!

Wie lang muss man denn nun noch warten? Das Teil soll doch im Sommer vielleicht schon in Mai nach draußen. Nicht jeder kann tagtäglich stricken oder hat beim Stricken den Turbo Gang...

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked in the round): 1 ridge in height = 2 rounds; Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all rows in the pattern seen from the right side. INCREASE TIP (for sleeves): Make sure the increases are worked on a round without pattern, i.e. an even row in the diagram. Work as far as the marker-stitch, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= marker-stitch), make 1 yarn over (= 2 stitches increased). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The body is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up as far as the armholes. Then the front and back pieces are finished separately, back and forth. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/short circular needle, bottom up as far as the armholes and the sleeve cap is finished back and forth. The piece is sewn together and the neck worked to finish. BODY: Cast on 224-240-256-288-304-336 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 and Safran. Work 3 RIDGES in the round – read description above. Change to circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 and work 1 round of stockinette stitch. Then work A.1 in the round (= 28-30-32-36-38-42 repeats of 8 stitches). Insert 1 marker in the 2nd stitch on the round and 1 marker in the 114th-122nd-130th-146th-154th-170th stitch. Allow the markers to follow your work onwards; they mark the sides of the body. Continue the pattern. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When the piece measures 29-30-31-32-33-34 cm = 11⅜"-11¾"-12¼"-12½"-13"-13⅜", bind off for the armholes on the next odd round in the diagram (this is important to avoid working the pattern from the wrong side when working back and forth) as follows: Start 2-3-3-4-4-4 stitches before the marker-stitch at the beginning of the round and bind off 5-7-7-9-9-9 stitches (the marker-stitch is the middle of these 5-7-7-9-9-9 stitches), work as before until there are 2-3-3-4-4-4 stitches left before the next marker-stitch, bind off 5-7-7-9-9-9 stitches and work as before to the end of the round. Back and front pieces are finished separately. BACK PIECE: = 107-113-121-135-143-159 stitches. Continue the pattern back and forth and bind off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: Bind off 3 stitches 1-1-1-2-2-3 times, 2 stitches 2-3-3-4-4-6 times and 1 stitch 4-4-4-6-6-7 times on each side = 85-87-95-95-103-103 stitches. NOTE: The stitches which do not fit into the lace pattern on each side after binding off are worked in stockinette stitch. When all the stitches are bind off, continue with the pattern as far out to the sides as possible, with 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH on each side – read description above. When the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm = 18"-19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22", bind off the middle 49-51-51-51-51-51 stitches for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue as before and bind off 2 stitches on the next row from the neck = 16-16-20-20-24-24 stitches on the shoulder (the stitches which do not fit into the lace pattern are worked in stockinette stitch). Continue working until the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm = 19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾". Bind off with knit from the right side. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: = 107-113-121-135-143-159 stitches. When all the stitches are bind off, continue with the pattern as far out to the sides as possible, with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. When the piece measures 41-43-45-46-48-50 cm = 16⅛"-17"-17¾"-18"-19"-19¾", place the middle 35-37-37-37-37-37 stitches on 1 thread for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue as before and bind off on each row from the neck as follows: Bind off 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 2 times = 16-16-20-20-24-24 stitches on the shoulder (the stitches which do not fit into the lace pattern are worked in stockinette stitch). Continue working until the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm = 19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾". Bind off with knit from the right side. Work the other shoulder in the same way. SLEEVES: Cast on 64-72-80-88-96-104 stitches with double pointed needles/short circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 and Safran. Work 3 ridges in the round. Change to needle size 3,5 MM = US 4 and work 1 round of stockinette stitch. Then work A.1 in the round (= 8-9-10-11-12-13 repeats of 8 stitches). Insert 1 marker in the 2nd stitch on the round (mid under sleeve). Allow the marker to follow your work onwards. Continue the pattern. AT THE SAME TIME when the sleeve measures 2 cm = ¾", increase 2 stitches mid under the sleeve – read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 1-1-1-1½-1½-1½ cm = ⅜"-⅜"-⅜"-½"-½"-½" a total of 6-5-4-4-3-2 times = 76-82-88-96-102-108 stitches (stitches which do not fit into the lace pattern are worked in stockinette stitch). When the sleeve measures 9-9-9-8-8-6 cm = 3½"-3½"-3½"-3⅛"-3⅛"-2⅜" and on an odd round in A.1, bind off for the armhole under the sleeve; start 2-3-3-4-4-4 stitches before the marker-stitch, bind off 5-7-7-9-9-9 stitches (the marker-stitch is the middle of these 5-7-7-9-9-9 stitches) and work to the end of the round. Continue the pattern back and forth and bind off for the sleeve cap at the beginning of all rows as follows: Bind off 3 stitches 1-1-1-1-1-1 time, 2 stitches 3-3-3-2-2-2 times and 1 stitch 8-8-8-12-12-15 times on each side. Then bind off 2 stitches on each side until the sleeve measures 19-19-19-20-20-20 cm = 7½"-7½"-7½"-8"-8"-8". Bind off 3 stitches 1 time on each side. Bind off the remaining stitches. The sleeve measures approx. 20-20-20-21-21-21 cm = 8"-8"-8"-8¼"-8¼"-8¼" from the top down. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams inside the bind-off edge. Sew in the sleeves inside the edge stitch on the front and back pieces. NECK: Start from the right side on one shoulder and knit up 120 to 132 stitches around the neck (including the stitches on the thread in front) with short circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 and Safran. Purl 1 round, knit 1 round, purl 1 round, knit 1 round and purl 1 round. Bind off with knit. |
