Hello! I am confused! Cast on with two strands but continue knitting with one? What's the purpose of this technique? What do I do with the strand left behind? Do you have a video that shows the transition from two to one strand? Please help!! Thank you! Coni.
06.01.2018 - 13:45DROPS Design answered:
Hi Coni, you use two strands to cast on with so that the cast-on edge is stretchy. When you have cast on you cut the one strand and fasten it well and continue with just the other one. Happy knitting!

I cannot figure out if front and back are the same length. I would like to have it as long in the back as it is in the front. Can you provide directions to work with. Thanks so much!
06.07.2017 - 00:01DROPS Design answered:
Dear Pirette, the original modell's front and back is the same length, so you can follow the directions of the pattern to get both the front and the back the same. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!

I'm sorry - but am I missing something. I can't seem to find a reference as to how many balls of yarn this pattern requires. Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated. Regards Sharon
15.04.2017 - 14:42DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sharon, if you use the DROPS Bomull Lin yarn, depennding on the size you are planning to make, you will need 400-450-450-500-550-600 gramms (8-9-9-10-11-12 balls of 50 gram), if you use the DROPS Paris yarn, you will need 450-500-550-600-650-750 gramms (9-10-11-12-13-15 balls of 50 gramm). I hope this helps, Happy Knitting!

Hello I want to kni this beautiful sweater for my mother but as I read the pattern I have a doubt. For the sleeves, you have to pick up the number of stitches given ( 44-46-48 -50-52-54) on each side or is that the total of stitches you have to pick up? Thank you in advance.
01.03.2017 - 16:20DROPS Design answered:
Dear Anna Maria, that's correct, you will pick up 44-54 sts (see size) inside the 2 sts cast off for armhole on each side, ie between front & back piece. Happy knitting!

Not yet started but I notice that I am to cast-on with 2 strands but then contine patern with only 1 yarn, is that correct? Many thanks in advance.
29.06.2015 - 15:43DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Elliott, that's correct, you cast on first sts with 2 strands of yarn but then work with only 1 strand. Remember to check and keep your tension, ie 10.5 sts x 18 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm with needle size 9 or size needed to get the correct tension. Happy knitting!

Work stockinette st back and forth on circular needle. When piece measures 2 cm / 3/4'', insert 1 marker in each side - used for assembly of sleeve. When piece measures 5-4-5-4-5-3 cm / 2"-1½"-2"-1½"-2"-1", dec 1 st in each side of piece inside 1 edge st. Repeat dec every 3 cm / 1'' 8-8-7-7-6-6 more times = 26-28-32-34-38-40 sts. LOOSELY bind off sleeve piece measures 38-37-36-34-32-30 cm / 15"-14½"-14 1/4"-13½"-12½"-11 3/4" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders). ASSEMBLY: Sew the sleeve seams inside 1 edge st - NOTE: The 2 cm / 3/4'' worked back and forth before marker at the top of sleeve should fit the bind off for armhole. Sew side seam from armhole down to marker for vent, sew in outer loops of edge sts. |
