Hello! For this part: “Work A.1, work A.2. *, repeat from *-* the rest of round = 112-126 stitches.“ - the directions don’t specify how many rounds to do this for before moving on to do A3 over the entire round.

Hi Ksenya, You work A.1 and A.2 once in height (3 rounds), before moving on to A.3. Happy knitting!

Hei, når man skal vrenge arbeidet etter de 10 første cm i vrangborden, er det da slik at man skal strikke rett over rett eller skal man bytte slik at man strikker vrang over der det var rett?
13.11.2024 - 01:01DROPS Design answered:
Hei Julie. Du fortsetter å strikke vrangborden likt (altså rett masker over rett masker og vrang masker over vrang masker). mvh DROPS Design

This part of the pattern seems wrong: Switch to circular needle size 4 mm and work PATTERN as follows: * Work A.1, work A.2. *, repeat from *-* the rest of round = 112-126 stitches. If you start with 96 you will never end up at 112? 96:40= 2 rounds and 16 left so that's 6 extra yarn overs that's 102?
08.11.2024 - 16:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Daphne, each repeat of A.1 has 2 increases. Since you repeat A.1 (= 6 stitches) and A.2 (= 6 stitches) over all 96 stitches, you will repeat A.1 8 times and A.2 8 times (=96/6 = 16; 16/ 2 =8). So you will increase 16 yarn overs. 96 sts+16 yarn overs= 112 sts. You get to 112 stitches in the first round of the charts. Happy knitting!

Buon lavoro!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked in the round on circular needle, bottom up. Switch to double pointed needles when needed. HAT: Cast on 96-108 stitches on circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 with DROPS Lima and DROPS Kid-Silk or DROPS Puna and DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Switch to circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 and knit 1 round. Work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) for 10 cm = 4". Turn the piece inside out and turn so that you can continue working in the opposite direction - this is done to get a nice cast-on edge on the right side when the hat is folded up at the bottom. Continue rib (= knit 2/purl 2) until piece measures 12 cm = 4¾". Switch to circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and work PATTERN as follows: * Work A.1, work A.2. *, repeat from *-* the rest of round = 112-126 stitches. When diagrams have been worked, work A.3 over all stitches = 8-9 cables on round. Continue A.3 until piece measures approx. 21-23 cm = 8¼"-9" - adjust so that last round is 3rd round in A.3 (approx. 8 cm = 3⅛" remain until finished measurements). Work A.4 over all stitches, when diagram is done, there are 64-72 stitches on round. ROUND 1: Knit over knit and purl over purl. ROUND 2: * Knit 2, purl 2 together * repeat from *-* the entire round = 48-54 stitches. ROUND 3: Knit over knit and purl over purl. ROUND 4: * Knit 2 together, purl 1 *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 32-36 stitches. ROUND 5: Knit over knit and purl over purl. ROUNDS 6-7: Knit stitches together 2 by 2 = 8-9 stitches. Cut the yarn and pull yarn through stitches, tighten together and fasten. Fold the rib upwards so that it is 7 cm = 2¾" high. The hat measures approx. 22-24 cm = 8¾"-9½" when it is folded. |
