In this DROPS video we show how you can increase with yarn over (yo) This is an increase that creates a decorative hole. We show the increase 2 times in the video. Halfway through the video we have turned the work and show you how to work the yo in front or back loop depending if you prefer a larger or smaller hole. When working the back loop the stitch becomes twisted and this way the hole becomes a bit smaller. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to increase 1 stitch symmetrical

In this DROPS video we show a way to make a symmetrical increase that gives 1 new stitch, we show it twice on the same row. Follow steps 1-4 below: 1. Loosely slip the first stitch on the left needle onto the right needle as if to purl. Hold the knitting yarn behind the work. 2. Insert the left needle behind the slipped stitch and between the slipped stitch and the next stitch on the right needle. 3. Make a yarn over on the right needle and pull the yarn over through the stitch to make 1 new stitch on the right needle 4. Drop front loop of stitch off left needle and then knit 1 in front part of the other loop of stitch. You have now increased 1 stitch We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to increase stitches in a cable

In this DROPS video we show to increase stitches in the cable stitches, like the raglan increases is done in the “White Heron” jumper in DROPS 254-7. In the video we work 7 stitches (2 garter stitches + knit 1 + purl 2 + knit 2), before A.1 (cable), then knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), A.2 and finish the row with 7 stitches (knit 2 + purl 2 + knit 1 + 2 garter stitches). Work A.1 like this: Place 4 stitches on cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, work 3 stitches in each of the 4 stitches on cable needle (work front, back, front loop of each stitch). 8 increased stitches. Work A.2 like this: Place 2 stitches on cable needle in front of piece, work 3 stitches in each of the next 4 stitches (work front, back, front loop of each stitch), knit 2 from cable needle. 8 increased stitches. On the next row work the new stitches in the pattern (knit 2 / purl 2). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. In this DROPS Video we show how to do a yarn (yo) over when on the wrong side of your work. You make the yo exactly as when on the right side. On the next row you can create a hole by knitting into the front loop of the yarn over. How to increase using loop under

In this DROPS video we show how you can increase and make a new stitch by picking up the loop from the stitch on previous row. You can do it after or before a stitch just as we show in the video. Right side: put your left needle through stitch 2 rows below the stitch on the right needle. Lift it up on your left needle and knit it in the back loop. Left side: put your right needle into the stitch under the first stitch on your left needle. Pick up the loop and put it on your left needle. Knit this new stitch in the front loop, and also knit following stitch separate as usual. How to increase in English rib

In this DROPS video show how to increase with yarn overs in each side of piece knitted in English Rib. The yarn over is worked into the pattern, and you will get an additional "rib stripe" in each side first after increasing 2 sts each side. In this DROPS video we show how to work the increase in English rib by making several stitches in 1 stitch, and how to work the next round. This technique is used in the jumper in DROPS 194-13. NB! These charts are taken from DROPS 201-40, but the same technique is used in many other patterns. We start the video by showing how we work chart A.1 and then especially how we knit 1 stitch below next stitch and name it an English rib stitch. We show 1st round of A.1 4 times.
