A crochet spider

SPIDER: The spider is worked in rows. Rotate the piece when working and work from RS the entire time. ROW 1: Work 7 ch. ROW 2: Work back in ch-row as follows: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, then work 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in next ch, 1 tr in next ch, 1 dtr in next ch and 1 dtr in last ch (= first st on ch-row from beg) and work 4 ch. Rotate the piece and work 1 sl st on the underside of last dtr (= 1st ch on ch-row from 1st row). The spider's body and head are done and continue to work 8 legs. ROW 3: Continue working along the underside of ch-row from 1st row as follows: 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, * ch 6, work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 5 ch. Work 5 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch * = leg 1 and 2. Then work 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts and repeat from *-* 1 time = leg 3 and 4. Work 1 sl st in next st, rotate the piece and work 2 sc in next st (= 7th ch from 1st row and mid front on the spider's body). ROW 4: Rotate the piece and work 1 sl st in next st (= 1st sc from 2nd row), * 5 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch. Continue with 6 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 5 ch * = leg 5 and 6. Then work 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts and repeat from *-* 1 time = leg 7 and 8. Then work 1 sl st in same st as last sc and 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts. Cut the thread, pull it through and fasten tightly.

A crochet fly

ROW 1: Work 7 ch. ROW 2: Work back in ch-row as follows: 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each of the next ch 2, 1 dc in each of the next ch 2, work ch 3, rotate the piece and work 1 sl st on the underside of last dc (= 1st ch on ch-row from 1st row). The fly's body and head are done and continue to make wings. ROW 3: Continue to work along the underside of ch-row from 1st row as follows: Work 1 sl st in next dc, switch to a different color and work 1 sl st in next hdc. Then work the wings as follows: * ch 3, 1 dc in same hdc, 1 dc in next hdc, ch 3, 1 sl st in same hdc *, work ch 3, rotate the piece and let the ch-row follow around to the back of the fly. ROW 4: Work 1 sl st on the underside of the last hdc worked on 3rd row and repeat from *-* 1 time. Cut and fasten the threads.

A crochet cobweb.

Ch 4 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. ROUND 1: ch 1, 12 sc in ch-ring and finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. ROUND 2: ch 4, 1 tr in next sc, * ch 5, 1 tr in each of the 2 next sc - but wait with last pull through on both, make a YO and pull through all 3 sts on hook *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with ch 5 and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 6 tips. ROUND 3: ch 14, * 1 tr in next tip from previous round, ch 10 *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times, finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beg of round. ROUND 4: 19 ch, * 1 dtr in next tr from previous round, 14 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 5th ch from beg of round. ROUND 5: 25 ch, * 1 dtr in next dtr from previous round, 20 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 5th ch from beg of round. ROUND 6: 32 ch, * 1 triple tr in next dtr from previous round, 26 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round. ROUND 7: 38 ch, * 1 triple tr in next triple tr from previous round, 20 ch and work back in ch-row with 1 sl st in every ch, 32 ch *, repeat from *-* a total 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round, work 20 ch and work back in ch-row with 1 sl st in every ch. Finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round. Fasten off.
