How to work double crochet and get a straight line running down the beginning/ending of the rounds

In this DROPS video we show how to get a straight line running down the beginning/the end of the rounds. Work in the round alternately from the right and wrong side, turning the piece after each round. It you work round and round from the right side; the line at the beginning of the round is then slightly diagonal (see the sample patch on the right at the beginning of the video). We also work the piece in stripes and to get a neat transition when changing colours, we work the slip stitch at the end of the round in the new colour. Each round of double crochets begins with 3 chain stitches which do not replace the first double crochet. The rounds finish with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round.
