RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round.

INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced):
All increases are worked on a knitted round. Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over between 2 stitches; on the next round purl the yarn over twisted to avoid a hole.
To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 150 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g. 5) = 30. In this example, increase after every 30th stitch.

See diagram A.1-A.3. Choose diagram for your size.

The skirt is worked in the round, top down. Cast on 150-162-180-202-224-246 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 and Cotton Merino. Work GARTER STITCH – see description above. When the piece measures 2 cm / 3/4'', insert 1 marker in the piece (= folding edge, this will be folded later and sewn down on the wrong side of the skirt). The piece is now measured from here! REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When the piece measures 1 cm / 3/8'' increase 5 stitches evenly on round – read INCREASE TIP! Increase like this every 8th-8th-6th-6th-6th-6th round a total of 8-10-13-14-16-18 times. Then increase 2-4-3-0-0-0 stitches evenly on the next knitted round = 192-216-248-272-304-336 stitches. When the piece measures 16-18-20-22-24-26 cm / 6 ¼"-7"-7 7/8"-8 5/8"-9 3/8"-10 ¼" from the marker, change to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and work A.1 (= 8 stitches) over all stitches (= 24-27-31-34-38-42 times in width). When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, work
A.2 over all stitches. Continue with A.3 over all stitches. When all stitches are increased, there are 456-513-589-612-646-714 stitches on the needle. Continue the diagram and bind off as described on the last round in A.1; you can use 1 needle size larger to bind off with to avoid the bind-off edge being tight. The piece measures a total of 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm / 22¾''-23 5/8''-24 3/8''-25¼''-26''-26¾'' (including the folding edge).

Fold the lining towards the wrong side and sew down neatly. Leave a small opening to thread the elastic through.

All measurements in charts are in cm.

= knit
= purl
= between 2 stitches make 1 yarn over
= slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
= knit 2 together
= slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches
= bind off 1 stitch
= ind off 1 stitch, make 1 yarn over, bind off the yarn over; this prevents the bind off edge being tight

Brei A.1 (= 8 steken) over alle steken (= 24-27-31-34-38-42 keer in de breedte). Als A.1 1 keer in de hoogte is gebreid, brei dan A.2 over alle steken. Ga verder met A.3 over alle steken.

Is there a way to get a bigger graph to follow. This one is so small it is unreadable. I have yet to figure out how to blow it up to a more useable state. Thanks

DROPS Design 16.08.2018 kl. 08:40:

Dear Mrs Baggaley, thanks for your feedback, larger diagrams should be available soon. Happy knitting!
