Diagram

All measurements in charts are in cm.

= K
= P
= insert needle through st as if to P, 4 YOs and pull through st
= Flower pattern: Slip the next 6 sts on right needle without working them and drop the YOs off (= 6 flower sts). Strand from ball is now behind piece. * Place strand in front of piece between the 6th flower st and 1st st on left needle, slip the 6 flower sts back on left needle and place strand in front of these sts, then between 1st flower st and st on right needle and finally behind piece, slip the 6 flower sts back on right needle *, repeat from *-* 1 more time. Strand from ball has now been twined around the 6 flower sts 2 times. NOTE: Tighten strand so that knot around flower sts is approx. 1/2 cm / 1/4'' wide. (To keep the pattern in place it is important to avoid this knot from being too loose).
