------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.5. INCREASE TIP (applies to sides of body): Increase 4 stitches on round by increasing on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 2 stitches remain before marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 4 (marker thread is in the middle of these 4 stitches), make 1 yarn over. Then repeat the increase at the marker thread in the other side (= 4 stitches increased). On next round knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes - continue the new stitches in stockinette stitch DECREASE TIP (applies to mid under sleeves): Decrease 2 stitches on round by decreasing on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- TOP - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke top down in the round on circular needle. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. If 0 is given for the chosen size, it means that you skip the information until next information. NECK EDGE: Cast on 96-100-104-108-112-116 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 with 1 strand of each color of DROPS Safran. Work rib in the round = knit 2/purl 2 for 2 cm = ¾". Insert 1 marker at beginning of round (= mid back), measure yoke from this marker. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 5 MM = US 8, and work 1 round in stockinette stitch while decreasing 6-5-4-3-2-1 stitches evenly = 90-95-100-105-110-115 stitches. Then work in stockinette stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When piece measures 2 cm = ¾" from marker, work A.1 in the round on yoke 18-19-20-21-22-23 times in total = 126-133-140-147-154-161 stitches. When piece measures 5-5-5-5-6-6 cm = 2"-2"-2"-2"-2⅜"-2⅜" from marker, work A.2 in the round on yoke 18-19-20-21-22-23 times in total = 162-171-180-189-198-207 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! When piece measures 8-8-8-8-10-10 cm = 3⅛"-3⅛"-3⅛"-3⅛"-4"-4" from marker, work A.3 in the round on yoke 18-19-20-21-22-23 times in total = 198-209-220-231-242-253 stitches. When piece measures 11-11-11-11-14-14 cm = 4⅜"-4⅜"-4⅜"-4⅜"-5½"-5½" from marker, work A.4 in the round on yoke 18-19-20-21-22-23 times in total = 234-247-260-273-286-299 stitches. SIZE S AND M: = 234-247 stitches. Increases are done. SIZE L AND XL: When piece measures 14-14 cm = 5½"-5½" from marker, work A.5 in the round on yoke as follows: * Work A.5, work 13-13 stitches in stockinette stitch *, work from *-* the entire round = 280-294 stitches. SIZE XXL AND XXXL: When piece measures 18- 18 cm = 7"-7" from marker, work A.5 in the round on yoke 22-23 times in total = 330-345 stitches. ALL SIZES: Work 1 round in stockinette stitch while adjusting number of stitches to 236-256-280-308-328-344. Continue in stockinette stitch. When piece measures 18-18-20-21-24-26 cm = 7"-7"-8"-8¼"-9½"-10¼" from marker, divide the piece for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME as next round is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 36-39-42-46-50-54 stitches in stockinette stitch (= half back piece), slip the next 46-50-56-62-64-64 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-10-12-14 new stitches on row (= in the side under sleeve), work 72-78-84-92-100-108 stitches in stockinette stitch (= front piece), slip the next 46-50-56-62-64-64 stitches on a thread for sleeve, 8-8-10-10-12-14 new stitches on row (= in the side under sleeve) and work the last 36-39-42-46-50-54 stitches in stockinette stitch (= half back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. Now measure piece from here! BODY: = 160-172-188-204-224-244 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in each side on body, in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-14 stitches cast on in the side under each sleeve and move the marker thread when working, use the marker threads when increasing in the side on body. Begin round at marker thread, work in the round and measure piece from the division. When piece measures 4 cm = 1½", increase 1 stitch on each side of both marker threads - read INCREASE TIP (= 4 stitches increased). Increase like this every 5 cm = 2" 3 times in total = 172-184-200-216-236-256 stitches. Work until piece measures 29-30-30-31-30-30 cm = 11⅜"-11¾"-11¾"-12¼"-11¾"-11¾". Continue on circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 and work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 28-32-36-36-40-44 stitches evenly on 1st round = 200-216-236-252-276-300 stitches. When rib measures 2 cm = ¾" bind off all stitches somewhat loosely with knit over knit and purl over purl. Top measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm = 21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼" from shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 46-50-56-62-64-64 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 5 MM = US 8 and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-10-12-14 stitches cast on under sleeve = 54-58-66-72-76-78 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-10-12-14 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stockinette stitch in the round - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 3 cm = 1⅛" from division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 3 cm = 1⅛" 1-2-2-2-1-0 times in total = 52-54-62-68-74-78 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 15-16-15-14-12-10 cm = 6"-6¼"-6"-5½"-4¾"-4" from division. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 MM = US 4 and work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 8-10-10-12-14-14 stitches evenly on 1st round = 60-64-72-80-88-92 stitches. When rib measures 2 cm = ¾" bind off all stitches somewhat loosely with knit over knit and purl over purl. Sleeve measures approx. 17-18-17-16-14-12 cm = 6¾"-7"-6¾"-6¼"-5½"-4¾" from division. |
