I love the designs, but my brain cannot grasp the diagram patterns. It would be great if you could include traditional written patterns.

I f.eks str. S hekles det 6 staver over første rapport av A.1b og 18 staver over de første 3 rapportene av A.2b = 24 staver. Nå klippes tråden og du start fra begynnelsen av raden igjen med mønster, fra retten. Hekle A.1b, A.2b totalt 3 ganger (se A.1a/A.2a for hvordan det hekles mønster over staver), hekle 24 luftmasker til ermehull, hopp over 4 rapporter av A.2b, hekle A.2b totalt 7 ganger og avslutt med A.3b. Nå har du et hull til ermet og på neste rad hekles det mønster som før over luftmaskene. God Fornøyelse!

I have finished working A.(x)b to get the 7in. Am I then to do an entire row of dc? (To make the jacket hold better together over the armhole work an extra row with double crochet only over the last stitches on jacket (= on the collar - this becomes the top part of jacket when parts are sewn together). And then am I supposed to only crochet the last 24 st, which would then be worked into after the 24ch on the next row? Thanks in advance
31.07.2020 - 04:07DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jessica, for the shoulder you crochet only 24 dc from the beg of round: 6 dc over the first A.1b and 6 dc over each of the next A.2b (= 18 dc in total over A.2b) = 24 dc. Cut the yarn. Work now from the beg of the row as before with A.1b, A.2b 3 times in width (= over the first 24 dc on previous short row), 24 chains (= armhole), skip the next 4 A.2b and finish row with 7 times A.2b ending with A.3b as before. There is now a hole created by the 24 chains and the 4 repeats skipped. Turn and continue as before, working 4 repeats of A.2b in the 24 chain for armhole. Happy crocheting!

Crocheted long square jacket in DROPS Air. Piece is crocheted with lace pattern and fans. Size: S - XXXL
DROPS 206-46 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.7. CROCHET INFORMATION: On every row with double crochets replace first double crochet with 3 chain stitches. On every row with treble crochets replace first treble crochet with 5 chain stitches. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JACKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Piece is worked back and forth in 2 parts and sewn tog mid back. Work back and forth from mid back towards mid front. Work sleeves back and forth from armholes and down, sew together when finished. LEFT PART: Work 116-123-131 chain stitches on hook size 6 mm = US J/10 with Air. Turn and work 1 double crochet in 4th chain stitch from hook (= 2 double crochets), 1 double crochet in each of the next 4-5-1 chain stitches, * skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 5 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* 18-19-21 times in total = 96-102-108 double crochets - read CROCHET INFORMATION. Continue to work as follows: Work A.1a over the first 6 double crochets, A.2a over the next 84-90-96 double crochets (= 14-15-16 repetitions) and finish with A.3a over the last 6 double crochets. Then work A.1b over A.1a, A.2b over A.2a and A.3b over A.3a. Repeat A.1b, A.2b and A.3b vertically. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! When piece measures 18-20-22 cm = 7"-8"-8¾" (adjust after a row worked from wrong side), work armholes as follows from right side: To make the jacket hold better together over the armhole work an extra row with double crochet only over the first stitches on jacket (= on the collar). Work 6-6-6 double crochets over first repetition of A.1b and 18-18-18 double crochets over the first 3-3-3 repetitions of A.2b = 24-24-24 double crochets. Cut the yarn and begin from beginning of row again with pattern - from right side as follows: Work A.1b, A.2b 3-3-3 times in total (see A.1a/A.2a on how to work pattern over double crochets), work 24-30-30 chain stitches for armhole, skip 4-5-5 repetitions of A.2b, work A.2b 7-7-8 times in total and finish with A.3b. On next row work pattern as before over chain stitches, i.e. work A.2b 4-5-5 times in total over armhole. Continue pattern as before until piece measures approx. 59-64-69 cm = 23¼"-25¼"-27⅛" – adjust after a row with double crochets, fasten off. RIGHT PART: Work 116-123-131 chain stitches on hook size 6 mm = J/10 with Air. Turn and work 1 treble crochet in 4th chain stitch from hook (= 2 treble crochets), 1 double crochet in each of the next 4-5-1 chain stitches, * skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 double crochet in each of the next 5 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* 18-19-21 times in total = 96-102-108 double crochets - remember CROCHET INFORMATION. When piece measures 18-20-22 cm = 7"-8"-8¾" (adjust after the same row as left part of jacket), work armholes as follows from right side: To make the jacket hold better together over the armhole work an extra row with double crochet only over the last stitches on jacket (= on the collar - this becomes the top part of jacket when parts are sewn together). Cut the yarn. Skip A.1b, skip the first 11-12-13 repetitions of A.2b, work 18-18-18 double crochets over the last 3-3-3 repetitions of A.2b and finish with 6-6-6 double crochets over A.3b = 24-24-24 double crochets. Cut the yarn and begin from beginning of row again with pattern - from right side as follows: Work A.1b, work A.2b 7-7-8 times in total, work 24-30-30 chain stitches for armhole, skip 4-5-5 repetitions of A.2b, work A.2b 3-3-3 times in total and finish with A.3b (see A.2a/A.3a on how to work pattern over double crochets). On next row work pattern as before over chain stitches, i.e. work A.2b 4-5-5 times in total over armhole. Continue pattern as before until piece measures approx. 59-64-69 cm = 23¼"-25¼"-27⅛" – adjust after left part of jacket, fasten off. ASSEMBLY: Turn garment parts so that wrong side is face up (treble crochet groups should be on the right side of garment). Sew jacket together mid back, sew in front loop of outermost stitches. SLEEVE: Work back and forth along armhole - begin mid under sleeve and work 50-62-62 double crochet evenly in/around double crochet row at the top towards neck. Continue to work back and forth as follows: Remember CROCHET INFORMATION! Work A.4a over first double crochet, A.5a over the next 48-60-60 double crochets (= 8-10-10 repetitions of 6 stitches) and finish with A.4a over last double crochet. Then work A.4b over A.4a and A.5b over A.5a. Continue pattern like this vertically – at the same time decrease 1 double crochet group in each side of sleeve on last row in diagram, decrease by working as shown in 2nd row in A.6 at the beginning of row and 2nd row in A.7 at the end of row (= 3 stitches decreased in each side). Decrease like this every 12 cm = 4¾" 4-4-4 times in total = 26-38-38 stitches. Continue pattern as before until piece measures approx. 53-53-53 cm = 21"-21"-21" – adjust after a row with double crochets. Work A.4c over A.4b and A.5c over A.4b. Cut and fasten the yarn. Work the other sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew together seam under sleeve in outermost stitch to avoid a chunky seam. |
