When A.1 and A.2 have been worked 4 times vertically, continue to P over pattern until finished measurements. BUTTONHOLE: Dec for buttonholes on right band. 1 buttonhole = K tog third and fourth st from mid front and make 1 YO. Dec for buttonholes when piece measures: SIZE S: 17, 27, 37, 47 and 58 cm / 6¾", 10⅝", 14½", 18½" and 22¾". SIZE M: 14, 23, 32, 41, 50 and 59 cm / 5½", 9", 12½", 16⅛", 19¾" and 23¼" SIZE L: 14, 23, 32, 41, 50 and 59 cm / 5½", 9", 12½", 16⅛", 19¾" and 23¼" SIZE XL: 11, 21, 31, 41, 51 and 61 cm / 4⅜", 8¼", 12¼", 16⅛", 20" and 23⅝". RAGLAN: Dec as follows from RS: Work until 3 sts remain before marker, K 2 tog, K 2 (marker is between these 2 sts), slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso. Dec as follows from WS: Work until 3 sts remain before marker, P 2 twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop of sts instead of front), P 2 (marker is between these 2 sts), P 2 tog. ---------------------------------------------------------- BODY: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 160-176-188-204-224-248 sts (includes 6 band sts in each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with Big Merino. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 and work first row from RS as follows: 6 sts in garter st (= band), A.1 (= 21 sts), stockinette st over the next 106-122-134-150-170-194 sts, P 21, 6 sts in garter st. REMEMBER BUTTONHOLES! Continue pattern like this until 14 rows in pattern A.1 have been worked. Then work as follows from RS: 6 sts in garter st (= band), continue with A.1 (= 21 sts), stockinette st over the next 106-122-134-150-170-194 sts, A.2 (= 21 sts), 6 sts in garter st. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 8 cm / 3", insert 1 marker 43-47-50-54-59-65 sts in from each side (= 74-82-88-96-106-118 sts between markers on back piece) and dec 1 st on each side of marker in each side (= 4 sts dec). Repeat dec every 6-6-6-6-6-4 cm / 2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-1½" 2-2-2-2-2-3 more times (3-3-3-3-3-4 times in total) = 148-164-176-192-212-232 sts in total on row. When piece measures 24 cm / 9½" in all sizes, inc 1 st on each side of marker in each side (= 4 sts inc). Repeat inc every 6-6-6-6-6-5 cm / 2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2" 2-2-2-2-2-3 more times (= 3-3-3-3-3-4 inc) = 160-176-188-204-224-248 sts. When piece measures 45-45-45-46-47-48 cm / 17¾"-17¾"-17¾"-18"-18½"-19", bind off 8 sts in each side for armholes (i.e. Bind off 4 sts on each side of marker in each side) = 39-43-46-50-55-61 sts remain on each front piece and 66-74-80-88-98-110 sts on back piece. Put piece aside and knit the sleeves. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles/circular needle. Cast on 40-41-44-44-45-45 sts on double pointed needle size 4 mm / US 6 with Big Merino. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST. Switch to double pointed needles size 5 mm / US 8 and work in stockinette st. When piece measures 8 cm / 3", insert 1 marker at the beg of round = mid under sleeve. Then inc 1 st on each side of marker. Repeat inc every 4-3½-3½-2½-2½-2 cm / 1½"-1¼"-1¼"-⅞"-⅞"-¾" 9-10-10-12-13-15 more times (= 20-22-22-26-28-32 inc sts) = 60-63-66-70-73-77 sts on needle. When piece measures 49-49-48-48-48-48 cm / 19¼"-19¼"-19"-19"-19"-19", bind off 8 sts mid under sleeve (i.e. bind off 4 sts on each side of marker) for armhole = 52-55-58-62-65-69 sts remain on needle. YOKE: Slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body where armholes were bound off = 248-270-288-312-338-370 sts. Insert 1 marker in all transitions between sleeves and body (= 4 markers). Continue with pattern, stockinette st and 6 band sts in garter st in each side towards mid front - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row (= RS), dec for RAGLAN - see explanation above! NOTE: The dec on body and sleeves are uneven. SLEEVE: Dec every 3rd row a total of 4-4-5-4-4-6 times, every other row a total of 11-12-10-10-12-10 times and then every row a total of 3-3-6-9-8-10 times (= 18-19-21-23-24-26 dec in total). BODY: Dec every 3rd row a total of 3-0-0-0-0-0 times, every other row a total of 14-18-18-16-15-11 times and then every row a total of 0-3-4-10-15-25 times (= 17-21-22-26-30-36 dec in total). AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 59-60-60-62-63-65 cm / 23¼"-23⅝"-23 58/8"-24⅜"-24¾"-25½" (A.2 should have been worked 4 times in total vertically), slip the outermost 12-12-13-13-14-14 sts in each side towards mid front on 1 stitch holder for neck (work sts first to avoid cutting the yarn). Then bind off on every row from neck: bind off 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 3 times. After all dec for raglan and bind offs for neck, 70-72-76-76-80-80 sts remain on needle. Work 1 row in stockinette st while AT THE SAME TIME dec 9-11-11-11-13-13 sts evenly (do not dec over band sts) = 61-61-65-65-67-67 sts remain on needle. NECK EDGE: Using circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and starting from RS: K sts from right holder, then pick up approx 5-7 sts along edge, K sts from yoke, then pick up approx 5-7 sts along edge, K sts from last holder. Work 3 ridges in garter st. Bind off with K from WS. ASSEMBLY: Sew the openings under the sleeves tog. Sew the buttons on to left front piece. |
