Fantastic design, great idea for summer with cotton yarns too, since it is not so classic.

From Australia, Love the design and colours. Was looking for a crop sleeve jacket, one front panel diagonal across the chest to be buttoned at the shoulder. I've started it. And winging it as I go. Thanks for a great knitting site.

GARTER ST (back and forthon needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 K rows. SHORT ROWS: Work 1 row over the first 23-24-25-26-27-28 sts, turn and work back. Work 1 row the first 22-23-24-25-26-27 sts, turn and work back. Continue with short rows, work one st less every time until two rows have been worked only over the first st. Then work 1 row over the first 2 sts, turn and work back, work 1 row over the first 3 sts, turn and work back. Continue with short rows, work one st more every time, until 1 row has been worked over the first 23-24-25-26-27-28 sts, turn and work back. 1 repetition with short rows = 90-94-98-102-106-110 rows. ---------------------------------------------------------- VEST: Worked back and forth on needle in garter st, i.e. K all rows. SEE MEASUREMENT CHART. Cast on 24-25-27-28-29-31 sts on circular needle size 7 mm / US 10.75 with Verdi. Work in garter st for 20 cm / 8". Work 2 repetitions with SHORT ROWS (between the 2 repetitions with short rows, work 2 rows over all 24-25-27-28-29-31 sts on needle) – see explanation above. * Work 1 row over all sts (= from RS). Work next row as follows – from WS: Pick up the outermost st in front loop from previous stripe, work first st from left needle, pass the new st over, work the rest of row *. Repeat these two rows (i.e. from *-*) until 1 st has been picked up in every ridge along the entire side of previous stripe. Work 1 repetition with short rows. Work in garter st for 17-18-19-20-21-22 cm / 6¾"-7"-7½"-8"-8¼"-8¾" (without picking up st from previous stripe = armhole). Repeat the 2 rows (i.e from *-* until 1 st has been picked up in each ridge along the entire side of previous stripe with start on 2nd repeat with turns). Work 1 repetition with short rows. * Work 1 row over all sts (= from RS). Work next row as follows – from WS: Pick up the outermost st in outer loop from previous stripe, work first st from left needle, pass the new st over, work the rest of row *.
