There is not a mistake. Largest size (UK version), first you work 4 tr in beg of row, then make 34 ch-loops as explained (note skip approx 2 sts between each dc to get 34 loops), then when 7 tr remain, you ch 2 (= your last loop), and then work 4 tr's. You will then have 4 tr's each side, and 34+1 = 35 loops.

CROCHET INFO: Replace first dc on every row with ch 3. Finish every row with 1 dc in 3rd ch from beg of previous row. -------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Worked top down back and forth. Then crochet tog to a circle afterwards. Ch 107-119 LOOSELY on hook size 4.5 mm/ US 7 with Lima. ROW 1: Work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, then work 1 dc in every ch = 105-117 dc on row, turn piece. READ CROCHET INFO! FAN PATTERN: Then work fan pattern back and forth from mid back as follows: ROW 2: 3 ch in 1st dc, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc (= mid back band), * ch 2, skip approx. 2 sts, 1 sc in next st *, repeat from *-* so that there are 30-34 ch-spaces and 6 or 7 dc remain, ch 2 and finish with 1 dc in each of the last 4 dc (= mid back band), turn piece.
