Lg

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. CROCHET INFO: Replace first dc from beg of every round with 3 ch. COLOR CHANGE: When changing color work as follows: Before last pull through of last loop on hook, switch color, pull the last loop on hook through with the new color. ---------------------------------------------------------- SEATING PAD: Work 4 ch on hook size 7 mm with yellow and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Continue on diagram A.1, i.e. work as follows: ROUND 1: Work ch 1, 8 sc in ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in first sc. ROUND 2: READ CROCHET INFO! Work 6 ch (= 1 dc + 3 ch), * 1 dc in next sc, 3 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round, switch to pastel pink - read COLOR CHANGE = 8 dc with 3 ch between each. ROUND 3: Work ch 1, then work as follows in every ch-space: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc, finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round, switch to old pink = 8 leaves. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! ROUND 4: Work ch 7, * 1 sc between the next 2 leaves, 6 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish round with 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round = 8 ch-spaces. ROUND 5: Work ch 1, then work as follows in every ch-space: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 5 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc, finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round, switch to hot pink = 8 leaves. ROUND 6: Work 10 ch, * 1 sc between the next 2 leaves, 9 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times, finish round with 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round = 8 ch-spaces. ROUND 7: ch 1, then work as follows in every ch-space: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 5 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc, finish round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round, cut the yarn = 8 leaves. ROUND 8: Start round with yellow with 1 sl st in first tr on first leaf, 3 ch (= 1 dc), * 8 ch (= corner), skip 3 tr, 1 sc in last tr on same leaf, ch 5, 1 sc in first tr on next leaf, ch 5, skip 3 tr, 1 sc in last tr on same leaf, ch 5, 1 dc in first tr on next leaf *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times but finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (instead of 1 dc in 1st tr on next leaf), switch to lime. ROUND 9: Work 1 sl st in 8-ch-space, * 4 dc + 4 ch + 4 dc in ch-space in the corner, ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-space, ch 3, 1 dc around next ch-space, ch 3, 3 dc around next ch-space, 3 ch * repeat from *-* a total of 4 times, finish with 1 sl st in first dc (= 3rd ch) from beg of round. ROUND 10: Work * 1 dc in each of the first 4 dc, in ch-space in the corner work 3 dc + 2 ch + 3 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, 4 dc in each of the next 4 ch-spaces *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times, finish round with 1 sl st in first dc (= 3rd ch) from beg of round. There are now 30 dc along each side and 2 ch in every corner. Cut the yarn and beg next round around ch-space in corner. Then work with green yellow according to A.2 along the sides on square, around ch in corners work 3 dc + 2 ch + 3 dc. When A.2 has been worked 1 time vertically, seating pad measures approx. 46 x 46 cm / 18" x 18". If you want a bigger seating pad repeat the last 2 rows in A.2 in the round while working corners as before until desired measurements. Fasten off. FELTING: The piece can be felted either in the washing machine or the tumble dryer – read description below. Remember: Subsequent washes are as for a normal wool garment. IN WASHING MACHINE: Washing machines will vary when felting. If the piece is not felted enough, it can be felted again. If it is felted too much, it can be stretched to the correct size while still wet. DO THE FOLLOWING: Lay the piece in the washing machine, using a programme of approx. 40 minutes (not a wool programme). Wash at 40 degrees C = 104 degrees F without pre-wash, detergent is optional. After washing, shape the piece while it is still wet. IN TUMBLE DRYER: Felting in a tumble dryer gives good control over the degree of felting. The tumble dryer can be opened during drying to check the size of the piece. If it is not felted enough it can be thoroughly wetted and felted again. If it is felted too much it can be stretched to the correct size while still wet. DO THE FOLLOWING: Lay the piece in water so it becomes completely wet, then place it in the tumble dryer and begin the drying process. Dry to the desired size, checking regularly. |
