Buongiorno Giulia. Buon lavoro!

Hi there, I am stuck at row 6. I don't get if I have to ch 3 to start. Also, the Group Pattern, is it supposed to be split over 2 chain spaces from previous round? What I mean: ch3, ch1, 2dc worked TOG inside the chain space from previous round, ch2, 2dc Worked TOG inside the chain from next chain space from previous round, ch1, 1dc on next dc. Really getting confusing. Please help me. Thank you.

Bon crochet!

A másik a 28. sor.

Also if the armholes are worked symmetrically, then on row 26 the armhole pattern (across the first chain 50) would seem to need to begin with a pattern group, not a treble group: does the pattern continue as if the armhole is simply a hole, with no change in pattern (that seems to be what you have said in response to other people's questions - but that doesn't seem to be what the pattern says). Thanks!
29.05.2017 - 22:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Miffy, you will work in the 50 ch for the armholes as if they weren't any hole, ie just continue pattern with pattern group and tr-groups (inc in the tr-groups). Remember you are working back and forth ie alternately from RS and from WS. Happy crocheting!

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I still don't understand how that combination of stitches can be worked into 50 chains - it seems to add up to 56 chains, not 50. Can you offer any more detail?
29.05.2017 - 22:13DROPS Design answered:
Dear Miffy, the 50 chains are worked as follows: 10 tr (= 10 ch), skip 1 ch (+ 1 ch = 11 ch), 11 tr (+11 ch= 22 ch), skip 1 ch (=+1 ch= 23 ch), 1 pattern group (+ 1 ch= 24 ch), skip 1 ch (+ 1 ch= 25 ch), 11 tr (+ 11 ch = 36 ch), skip 1 ch (+1 ch = 37 ch), 10 tr (+10 ch = 47 ch), skip 1 ch (+1 ch = 48 ch), 1 pattern group (+ 1 ch = 49 ch) and skip 1 ch (+1 ch = 50 ch). Happy crocheting!

Also - in row 25 (size S/M) when crocheting the round between the armhole chains, it says to crochet over 114 stitches. I have assumed that this means crochet 6 groups of 20 trebles (increasing the 19 on previous row) , plus an unspecified number of pattern groups. I have crocheted 7 pattern groups so that the armholes mirror one another, but this seems to have been wrong now I am on row 20.
29.05.2017 - 16:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Miffy, on row 25 you will work 20 tr, 1 pattern group, 20 tr, work 50 loose ch (= right armhole), skip 1 tr-group, 1 pattern group, 1 tr-group, 1 pattern group, then work tr-groups and pattern groups as before over the next 114 tr (= 6 x 20 tr + the pattern groups, work the last pattern troup, then crochet 50 loose ch (= left armhole), skip 1 tr-group, 1 pattern group, 1 tr-group, 1 pattern group, work as before the rest of row, finish with 1 sl st in first tr on row. Both armholes should be symetrical. Happy crocheting!

I would like help understanding row 26 (size S/M), around the arm holes. I have 50 chains to work into but the number of stitches specified (to make pattern continue around armhole) do not fit. The patterns says [(10+skip ch +11) x 2] + [2x pattern group] = (22x2) + (2 x 6) = 44 + 12 = 56. Thanks
29.05.2017 - 15:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Miffy, in the 50 ch you will work: 10 tr, skip 1 ch, 11 tr, skip 1 ch, 1 pattern group, skip 1 ch, 11 tr, skip 1 ch, 10 tr, skip 1 ch, 1 pattern group and skip 1 ch = this is worked over the 50 chains for each armhole (in opposite order for 2nd armhole). Happy crocheting!

ROW 31-54: Work pattern as before but now inc only on even numbered rows until 54 rows have been worked in total = 481 dc and 37 dc in every dc-group. Piece measures approx. 45 cm / 17¾" from middle and outwards. Fasten off. ALL SIZES: Insert 4 markers in the piece as follows from WS: Work 16- 17-18, insert 1st marker here, work 17-18-19 dc, * 1 pattern group, 33-35-37 dc *, repeat from *-* 3 more times, insert 2nd marker here (1st-2nd marker = right front piece). RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Now work right front piece between 1st and 2nd marker, beg from 2nd marker (i.e. from RS) = 149-158-167 dc and 4 pattern groups. Continue inc on every row in dc-groups as before BUT do not inc in dc-groups in each side of front piece - AT THE SAME TIME dec 2 dc at beg of every row by CROCHET 3 dc TOG - see explanation above. Continue to work until 12-14-16 rows have been worked over front piece. Cut the yarn and fasten. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work left front piece between 3rd and 4th marker the same way as right front piece, beg from 4th marker (i.e. from RS). SLEEVES: Work back and forth from armhole and down, work every row tog with 1 sl st at the end of row. Use hook size 3.5 mm and Alpaca. Beg by working 86-94-102 dc around the opening for sleeve, beg of row should be under sleeve. Then work 3 rows with 1 dc in every dc. Continue with 1 dc in every dc - AT THE SAME TIME dec in the different sizes as follows: READ DECREASE TIP! SIZE S/M: Dec 1 st in each side of piece every other row 4 times and then every 3rd row 12 times (= 16 times in total) = 54 dc. SIZE L/XL: Dec 1 st in each side of piece alternately every 3rd and 2nd row 18 times in total = 58 dc. SIZE XXL/XXXL: Dec 1 st in each side of piece every other row 17 times and then every 3rd row 4 times (= 21 times in total) = 60 dc. Then work pattern groups as follows: ROW 1: 2 dc, 1 ch * work the next 2 dc tog, 1 ch *, repeat from *-* and finish with 2 dc. ROW 2: Work 2 dc, * in next ch work 1 pattern group, skip 1 ch *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 1 dc in each of the last 2 dc. Turn piece. ROW 3: Work 2 dc, 1 pattern group in each of the next pattern groups until 2 dc remain, work 1 dc in each of these. Turn piece. Repeat 3rd row until piece measures approx. 61 cm / 24" in all sizes. Fasten off. CROCHET EDGE: Work 1 round with around the entire jacket as follows: * 1 pattern group, skip 2 dc/1 row *, repeat from *-* the entire round. |
