Bonjour !

Bon tricot!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st from RS by making 1 YO, on next row P YO to make holes. KNITTING TIP: To avoid the edges on the shawl from contracting it is important not to tighten yarn when changing color. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Cast on 79 sts on needle size 4 mm / US 6 with beige and work as follows: Row 1 (= WS): K 2, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K until 8 sts remain on row, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 2 = 87 sts on needle. Row 2 (= RS): Switch to heather, READ KNITTING TIP and K 1, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, K 1 twisted (insert 1 marker in this st = marker A), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 1 twisted (insert 1 marker in this st = marker A), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 1 twisted (insert 1 marker in this st = marker A), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, insert 1 marker after YO (= marker B), K 1 twisted, K until 12 sts remain on row, K 1 twisted, insert 1 marker before next st (= marker C), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 1 twisted (insert 1 marker in this st = marker A), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 1 twisted (insert 1 marker in this st = marker A), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 1 twisted (insert 1 marker in this st = marker A), 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, K 1 = 103 sts. Row 3 (= WS): K 1 (= edge st), P all sts and YOs until 1 st remains on row, finish with K 1 (= edge st) = 103 sts. Row 4 (= RS): Switch to beige and K all sts = 103 sts. Row 5 (= WS): K all sts with beige = 103 sts. Row 6 (= RS): Switch to heather and K all sts = 103 sts. Row 7 (= WS): K 1, P with heather until 1 st remains on row, finish with K 1 = 103 sts. Row 8 (= RS): Switch to beige and K all sts = 103 sts. Row 9 (= WS): K all sts with beige = 103 sts. Row 10 (= RS): Switch to heather and K while AT THE SAME TIME inc as follows – READ INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st inside 1 edge st in each side, inc 1 st on each side of all sts with marker A (= 6 markers), inc 1 st before marker B and 1 st after marker C = 16 sts inc and 119 sts in total on row. Row 11 (= WS): K 1, P until 1 st remains on row, finish with K 1 = 119 sts. Repeat rows 4 to 11. I.e. inc 16 sts every 8th row and work alternately 2 rows in stockinette st with heather and 1 ridge (= 2 rows K) with beige. When shawl measures approx. 38 cm / 15" in the middle – make sure to stop after 2 rows heather, switch to beige. Work in garter st back and forth over all sts while AT THE SAME TIME continuing inc as before but on every other row (i.e. every row from RS, instead of every 8th row) - NOTE: K YOs twisted on next row to avoid holes. When edge in garter st measures approx. 6 cm / 2½" (the entire shawl measures approx. 44 cm / 17¼" in the middle), very loosely bind off – NOTE: Make 1 YO after approx. every 5th st while binding off (bind off YOs as sts) to make the bind-off edge more elastic. CROCHET EDGE: Crochet a finishing edge along the edge at the top of shawl on hook size 4 mm / G/6 with beige. Beg with 1 sc in outermost st in one side of shawl , * ch 3, skip approx. 1-1½ cm / ⅜"-½", 1 sc in next st *, repeat from *-* along the entire edge at the top. Fasten off. |
