How to knit up stitches around an armhole, for a sleeve with split

In this DROPS video, we demonstrate how to knit up stitches around an armhole for a split-sleeve. We begin by showing you how to use a crochet hook to knit up stitches and transfer them onto a knitting needle. Then, we continue by showing you how to work with the stitches using knitting needles. Start at the bottom of the armhole (not directly under the sleeve) and knit up the number of stitches specified in your pattern, going as far as the other side of the armhole. Knit up the stitches within one stitch, which is often a garter stitch. Turn and work back, continuing back and forth to the measurement specified in your pattern, or use short rows for a better fit. Once completed, the sleeve is joined and worked in the round. Refer to your pattern for details on measurements, decreases, and the ribbed cuff. In this video, we demonstrate only 6–7 cm of the sleeve. Finally, sew together the hole under the sleeve. To make the seam and sewing easier to see, we use a contrasting color in the video. How to set a sleeve to a yoke / body

In this DROPS video we show how it is thought that a sleeve will be sewn to a yoke/body so that it matches a measurement chart. Follow the pattern, whether it is knitted from above or from below. Cast on or cast off stitches for armholes, read the pattern / see measurement chart. Work the sleeve around to the stated measurements, then work back and forth to finished measurements. When the sleeve and body are sewn together make sure that the marks on sleeves fit bottom of armhole. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. How to assembly a sleeve to a front piece

In this DROPS video we show how to assembly a sleeve to a front piece with garter stitch edge. Lay the sleeves under the garter stitch edge along the armholes and sew neatly from the right side (there should not be a loose edge after sewing; sew in the outermost garter stitch from the right side so the edge lies neatly outside the sleeve). How to work a diagonal shoulder, cast on stitches for the neckline and work the back piece together

In this DROPS video, we show you how to work each front piece with diagonal shoulders and short rows, the piece is worked bottom up. Then we show how to increase stitches for the neckline and join the shoulders for the back piece, then continue working top down. An I-cord band is worked on each side. We have already worked one section of the front piece and decreased stitches for the neckline. The video shows how we work 6 short rows (German short rows) on the right front piece, creating a diagonal shoulder. Then we show how to increase 1 stitch 3 times towards the neckline, which is now the back piece. Then we show the same for the left shoulder and finally cast on 12 stitches between the shoulders before the shoulders are knitted together. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. This technique is used among other things in pattern DROPS 255-9, Driftwood Vest, with a different stitch count, number of short rows and cast-on stitches.
