How to work a central double decrease

In this DROPS video we show how to work a central double decrease, like the one we see in the raglan line to the «Clear Winter Sky» jumper in DROPS 236-24. Work until there is 1 stitch left before marker-stitch, slip 2 stitches as if to knit together, knit 1, pass the slipped stitches over the knitted stitch. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to knit raglan decreases from RS and WS

In this DROPS video we show how you can knit decreases for raglan on both the right side and the wrong side of your work. Dec as follows from right side: Start 4 sts before the marker: K 2 tog, K 4 (the marker is in the center of these 4 sts), slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Dec as follows from wrong side: Start 4 sts before the marker: P 2 tog twisted, P 4, P 2 tog. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to work increases from the wrong side

In this DROPS video, we show how to increase with yarn over from the right side, both before a mark and after a mark, and how to work the increases from the wrong side. To get the yarn over to face neatly towards each other from the wrong side, work like this before the marker: Work in the back loop of the yarn over (no hole). After the marker work like this: Slip the yarn over off the left needle, then replace it the other way round (insert the left needle from the back when replacing it). Work the front loop of the yarn over (no hole). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You must read a pattern to be able to follow this video properly. How to increase by knitting around the strand between 2 stitches

In this DROPS video we show how to increases 3 stitches by knitting around the strand between 2 stitches, between the strand in the round you are working on and around the strand 2 and 3 rounds down. We increases both before and after the markers. Increase after a marker like this: Knit 1 around strand between stitch with marker and next stitch (= 1 round down), knit 1 around strand between stitch with marker and next stitch 2 rounds down (make sure to pull the strand long enough not to tighten vertically), knit 1 around strand between stitch with marker and next stitch 3 rounds down (make sure to pull the strand long enough not to tighten vertically). 1 stitch has been worked on each of the last 3 rounds (= 3 stitches increased). Increase before a marker like this: Work until stitch with marker, knit 1 around strand before stitch with marker 3 rounds down (make sure to pull the strand long enough not to tighten vertically), knit 1 around strand before stitch with marker and 2 rounds down (make sure not to pull the strand long enough not to tighten vertically), knit 1 around strand before stitch with marker on previous round. 1 stitch has been worked on each of the last 3 rounds (= 3 stitches increased). How to knit English rib with raglan decrease

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit English rib and raglan decreases. We show you how to knit the 2nd and 3rd row in the pattern, and then we show the raglan increases in each side on every 8th row 3 times. We fast forward the rows in between every 8th row. How to work yarn over differently to get different directions

In this DROPS video we show how to work yarn over differently so that they are towards the right or towards the left, as it is done in the hat in DROPS 234-12. We show 1 round where we knit the yarn over and 2 rounds where we purl the yarn over. Work the yarn over like this: AFTER MARKER: Work yarn over in back loop of stitches, stitch is twisted towards the left. It should not make a hole! BEFORE MARKER: Slip yarn over off the needle and put it back the opposite way, and then work in front loop of stitch, stitches is twisted towards the right. It should not make a hole! Work the increased stitches in rib knit 2/purl 2 - i.e. the first 2 times knit the increased stitches, the next 2 times purl them. The hat in DROPS 234-12 is worked in DROPS Karisma, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read a pattern to be able to follow this video properly. How to knit raglan back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how to knit raglan back and forth on a circular needle. Slip sleeves on the same needle as body piece where bind off for armholes. Insert a marker in all transitions between body piece and sleeves. Now dec for raglan. In this video we decrease each side of 2 sts at each transition on every other row, i.e. every row from RS, this gives 4 sts in stockinette at each transition. Start 3 sts before marker; K2 tog, K1, marker, K1, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. How to knit a jumper top down

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a jumper top down in the round on circular needles. We show how we increase for raglan by doing a YO 2 sts before marker and 2 sts after marker, and on next round K YO twisted to avoid a hole. We have already worked neck (rib) and start the video with the 1st round where we do the increase. How to make raglan increases on a piece knitted top down

In this DROPS video we show you how to increase for raglan on a top down knitted piece using markers and yo’s. We show in total 4 rows of increases. The first two times we increase 2 sts on front and back piece and 4 sts on each sleeve. The last two times we increase 2 sts on the front-, back piece and each sleeve. Please note that we fast forward in fourth and last increase to save time. At the end we show how to place the sleeve sts on a separate needle, casting on sts under each sleeve and placing new marker so you can work further on body. As we work with a less number of sts than in a pattern, you must read the specific pattern to be able to follow the video properly. How to work raglan from the bottom up

In this DROPS video we show how to work raglan on a jumper from the bottom up. There are several ways to work the decreases to raglan, but in this video, we show a simple basic way where it is decrease before and after the markers (4 marker threads are added in the piece between front piece, back piece and sleeves). Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2, marker thread is between these 2 stitches, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. Repeat at each of the remaining marker threads (= 8 stitches decreased). On next round knit over all stitches, then work one round where you decrease to raglan again. How often it should decrease, read the pattern you are working after. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to increase with a yarn over how to work the next round

In this DROPS video we show how to increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line and how to work these increases stitches on the next round. You can use the same technique when making other items, for example hats or skirts. Work like this: Increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line as follows: Work to the raglan-line, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= raglan-line), 1 yarn over. Increase like this at each raglan-line (= 8 stitches increased). On the next round work the yarn overs as follows: BEFORE RAGLAN-LINE: Slip the yarn over onto the right needle as if to knit, place it back onto the left needle (it is now twisted) and knit in the front loop (yarn over twists to the right). AFTER RAGLAN-LINE: Knit in the back loop of the yarn over (yarn over twists to the left). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to put markers, increase to raglan and how to work short rows

In this DROPS video we show how to put 4 markers in a piece, how to increase to raglan at these markers while working short rows. We cut the thread and start the short rows at the 3rd mark, but when the short rows are finished, we cut the thread and start in the middle of the back again. We have already worked a double neckline and in the video, l we show how we work a round where we put 4 markers and increase to raglan on each side of these markers. On next round we work the increases stitches twisted so that there are no holes. Then we work short rows, we also increase to raglan on every row and when the short rows are finished, we only increase to raglan on every other round. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. How to increase to raglan and at the same time work short rows

In this DROPS video we show how we increase to raglan and at the same time work short rows. Put 4 markers as explained in the in the pattern you are knitting after and cut the thread. Now you start working front left of neck when garment is worn. Start from the right side, 2 stitches before marker-stitch-3 and work after pattern (stocking stitch / after charts) and increase to raglan before and after the 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past marker-stitch-2 (8 stitches increased for raglan). Turn, tighten the strand and work back from the wrong side to 2 stitches past where the short rows began by marker-3. Continue with short rows as it says in the pattern and when the short rows are finish, cut the thread and now it starts mid-back again. Work the yarn overs / the increases as it says in the pattern, and remember that the yarn overs / increases are worked differently, before/after the marker and from the right side/from wrong side We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to put a sleeve together with front and back piece (knitted back and forth)

In this DROPS video we show how to put a sleeve that is worked back and forth on a round needle together with front and back piece. When you knit on a circular needle and should knit raglan or round yoke, start to knit front and back until armholes. How to knit up stitches under sleeve

In this DROPS video we show how to knit up 1 stitch in each of the new stitches that was cast on under the sleeve. We knit 8 new stitches and put a marker (or a marker thread) in the middle of these stitches. In many patterns, you should decrease 1 stitch on each side of stitch of this marker (or marking thread). How to close the seam under raglan sleeve (Kitchener sts, grafting, weaving)

In this DROPS video we show two ways of sewing together the hole under sleeves on a jumper/jacket with raglan. First, we show how to sew together so we get an invisible seam. Remember not to tighten the thread and sew from RS. Stitches should be same size as the knitted stitches. At thicker yarn it avoids that it becomes a thick seam on the back. Then we show how to sew together by sewing together the seam in the inner loops of edge sts. You get a thicker stitching on the outside, but it will not show up when it comes under arm.
