How to knit a bubble

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a bubble. Knit 5 sts in the same st as follows: knit 1, yarn over needle, knit 1, yarn over needle, knit 1, turn the piece, knit 5 rows of stocking sts over these 5 sts. Now lift 2nd st on right needle over 1st st, 3rd st over 1st st, 4th st over 1st st and 5th st over 1st st = 1 st left. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to knit an easy bubble (nupp)

In this DROPS video we show how to knit an easy bubble. We knit as follows: Work 4 sts in 1 st by working alternately in front and back loop of st 4 times. Work 4 rows in stocking st back and forth over these 4 sts. Then pass 2nd st on right needle over 1st st and 3rd st over 1st st and finally 4th st over 1st st (= 1 st remain). How to knit a nupp

In this DROPS video we show two ways to knit nupps, with both versions make sure to make really loose loops! If you are doing lace knitting, you may have come across nupps. Nupps originates from Estonian knitting, and adds pretty texture. Nupps are like bobbles, and reminds of flower buds. Knit a nupp by knit and make a yarn over a number of times into the same stitch, end with a knit stitch. Usually end when you have knitted 5, 7 or 9 loops, depending on how big you want the nupp to be. Put all loops back on LH needle and knit all loops into 1 stitch. Tighten yarn and keep on knitting. Or you can use a crochet hook to do the same thing. *Go through stitch, get yarn, make a yo on hook, repeat from * and end with going through stitch and getting the yarn, Then make a yo and pull yarn through all loops on hook = 1 stitch. Put this stitch back on RH needle, tighten and keep knitting.

How to work a bobble over 7 stitches

In this DROPS video we show how to work a bobble over 7 stitches. This bobble is worked after chart A.2 in the Rise Up jumper in DROPS 205-50, but same bobble or a similar bobble is also used in other patterns. Bobble: Work like this in the same stitch: * Knit 1, 1 yarn over*, work from *-* 3 times in total, knit 1 in same stitch (= 7 stitches in bobble). Work 4 rows in stocking stitch back and forth over these 7 stitches (work first row from wrong side). After last row pass 6th stitch over 7th stitch, 5th stitch over 7th stitch, 4th stitch over 7th stitch etc. until 1 stitch remains. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to work popcorn and bobbles after charts

In this DROPS video we show how to work popcorn and bobbles after chart A.1 and A.2, used in the ”Cloud Cover” jumper in DROPS 220-9 and the ”Cloud Cover Cardigan” jacket in DROPS 220-10. Both jumper and jacket are worked in DROPS Melody, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern and look at the charts to be able to follow this video properly. How to knit a knot

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the knot (the 6th diagram symbol), in the diagram A.2 in the Gentle Waves Top in DROPS 190-14. We have already knitted 12 rows of the diagram and start the video with showing the 4th knot on row 13. This knot/diagram explanation is also used in other patterns. Diagram explanation: = knit a knot like this: Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1 in same stitch, pass the 2nd slipped stitch over the outermost stitch on right needle, pass next stitch over the outermost stitch on needle, and continue like this until 4 stitches in total have been passed over the outermost stitch. This top is knitted in DROPS Belle, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern and look at the diagram to be able to follow this video properly. How to knit a sailor bobble pattern

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a sailor bobble pattern. It's fun and decorative! This is what we did on our chunky sample of 21 sts. Row 1-5: stockinette with 1 edge st each side in garter st. Row 6 (=RS): K1 edge st, K1, *count 5 sts down from st on left needle, put your right needle through and pick up yarn (=1 bobble), slip st off left needle and let st unravel, K3*, repeat *-*, end with 1 bobble, K2. Row 7-11: stockinette with 1 edge st each side in garter st. Row 12: K1 edge st, K3, *1 bobble, K3*, repeat *-*, end with K1. Repeat row 1-12. Towards the end of our video we show how it looks knitting on smaller needles with a DK weight yarn. You need a number of sts divisible by 4 + 3 sts + 1 edge st each side, (for bobble with 3 sts), and divisible by 6 + 3 + 1 edge st each side (for bobble with 5 sts). P.S. Depending on desired size of the bobble, you can choose to knit the st 3-5 rows below and also work 3-5 sts between each st picked up below.

How to work a nice and easy bubble pattern

In this DROPS video we show how to work a nice and easy bubble. We have already cast on 14 + 2 stitches, knitted 1 row and start the video like this: 1 ROW (RS): Knit 1 edge stitch, * 1 yarn over, knit 2 twisted together, 1 yarn over, do not slip the stitches off the left needle, but knit 1 more time in the same stitch = 4 stitches on the needle (+ edge stitch), slip the stitches of left needle *, repeat * - * entire row and finish with knit 1 edge stitch = 28 stitches / yarn over + 2 edge stitches on needle, turn. 2 ROW (WS): Knit 1 edge stitch, purl 2 and 2 stitches together and finish with knit 1 edge stitch. Repeat row 1 and 2 to the desired length. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

In this DROPS video, we show how to work some of the chart icons used in the September Story sweater in DROPS 213-25 and the September Story jacket in DROPS 213-26. We have already worked a piece so you can easily see the bubble pattern.
