How to knit the fan pattern in DROPS 165-29

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the fan pattern for the Alma shawl in DROPS 165-29. We begin with inserting the marker after the first 5 sts, and knitting first row on RS: K 1, 1 YO and K rest of row, turn piece. Then we knit the FAN pattern. When fan is done (after 32 rows in total), we K back over all sts. To avoid holes in transitions between turns on fan, we slip yarn between each of the 16 sts twisted back on needle and K tog with st. How to knit the shawl in DROPS 143-5

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the Aire shawl in garter stitch with lace pattern in DROPS 143-5. We have cast on 9 st, placed the marker in middle st and we knit as follows (RS): K 3, 1 YO, K 3, 1 YO, K 3 = 11 sts. Then we knit every row while at the same time inc 4 sts on every row from RS as follows: Make 1 YO inside 3 sts in garter st in each side and make a YO on each side of st with marker. On next row K YO to make holes. We knit to 39 st (with fast forward). Then we knit one repeat of charts A.1 and A.2 in the height with A.1 at the right side of the middle and A.2 at the left.
