Sew together pieces knit in garter

This is how we sew together two pieces to make an invisible seam. Sew 1 stitch through the bump, and then one stitch between bumps, sew back and forth from the right side of work.

How to sew together bind off edge in garter stitches

In this DROPS video we show 2 ways to sew together a piece worked in garter stitches. Fold the piece, RS against RS and sew the bind off edge together in the outermost loop so the seam is flat. 1. Insert the needle in the outermost loop of first stitch towards you then into the outermost loop of first stitch away from you then into the outermost loop of the next stitch away from you and into the outermost loop of next stitch towards you and repeat this. We also show result of this technique looks like with a darker color. 2. Insert the needle into the outermost stitch of first stitch towards you, then into the outermost loop of first stitch away from you, and repeat this. How to sew together 2 pieces with an I-cord bind off

Assembly: How to set in sleeve in a jumper in stockinette

In this DROPS video we show one way how to sew in sleeve in a jumper in stockinette. This jumper has no edge sts and we sew the pieces together from RS by sewing the last sts on the sleeve to the sts at the body. To see a pattern where you can use this technique, go to: DROPS 126-31

How to sew the jumper in DROPS 183-13 together

In this DROPS video we show you how to sew the jumper in DROPS 183-13 together. We have already sewn one sleeve to the front and back piece and underarm and side seams. Before we sew the last sleeve, we show on a swatch what we mean to sew inside 1 edge stitch (see pink thread). We use DROPS Snow in the video, the same yarn used in the pattern. How to set a sleeve to a yoke / body

In this DROPS video we show how it is thought that a sleeve will be sewn to a yoke/body so that it matches a measurement chart. Follow the pattern, whether it is knitted from above or from below. Cast on or bind off stitches for armholes, read the pattern / see measurement chart. Work the sleeve around to the stated measurements, then work back and forth to finished measurements. When the sleeve and body are sewn together make sure that the marks on sleeves fit bottom of armhole. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. How to assembly a sleeve to a front piece

In this DROPS video we show how to assembly a sleeve to a front piece with garter stitch edge. Lay the sleeves under the garter stitch edge along the armholes and sew neatly from the right side (there should not be a loose edge after sewing; sew in the outermost garter stitch from the right side so the edge lies neatly outside the sleeve). How to sew bands together and how to sew them to the neckline

In this DROPS video, we show how we sew 2 bands together and then sew them to the neckline behind the neck. Sew the bands together with small stitches edge to edge so that there will not be a thick seam. Then sew the band to the back piece with small stitches in the band and invisible grafting/kitchener stitch on the back piece. We use the yarn DROPS Daisy and DROPS Kid-Silk in the video. How assembly a double neck edge on the inside of a garment

In this DROPS video we show how to sew a rib / neck edge on the inside of a garment. Work the rib / neck edge as it is written in a pattern and when assembly fold the rib at the top of neck down on the inside of garment. Fasten rib but to avoid a tight neck edge and avoiding the edge to tip outwards, it is important to make the seam elastic. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in this video

Assembly: under and in the back - knitted slipper

Assembly a felted slipper: in the back, front and over the instep.

How to assemble a slipper in DROPS Extra 0-900

In this DROPS video we show how a slipper looks when it is finished knitted, where it is to be sewn and where to pick up stitches / knit 2 rows to the opening to the foot. The picture of the slippers in the video are knitted in DROPS Big Delight, but in video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. We use a different stitch number than the pattern, but the shape is roughly the same, so you have to read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly. How to assembly slippers

In this DROPS video we show how we sew together a knitted slippers that is worked back and forth in one piece, this assembly is used in the Sorbet Slippers in DROPS 203-23 and others slippers. Fold the piece at the toe, so that over side is on top of under side. Make sure that side of cast-on edge and side of bind-off edge is edge to edge (cast-on edge and bind-off edge form the hole to insert foot in slipper). Sew in front loop of edge stitch (we have choose to sew form the wrong side), begin in the side of cast-on/bind-off edge and sew up to toe. Repeat in the other side. The Sorbet Slippers in DROPS 203-23 are worked in DROPS Alaska, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly. How to assemble a slipper with a seam in front, mid top and back

In this DROPS video we show how to assemble a slipper, with a seam in front, mid top and back, like the slippers “Line Walking” in DROPS 203-24. We have already worked the slipper and then show which seam that should be sewn together first, then how to knit up stitches and then the last seam. Assembly devil/helmet hat

This is how you sew this pointed hat together. Back of hat = bind off row, i.e. 2 whole points and 2 half points. Sew hat tog, edge to edge along bind off row as follows: Sew first half point to one side of the first whole point. Sew the other side of first whole point to one side of second whole point. Then the other side of second whole point to the last half point. At last sew hat tog mid back.

How to assembly the hat in DROPS 192-12

In this DROPS video we show how to assembly the «Garbo» hat in DROPS 192-12. We have already worked the two pieces and show how the parts are sewn together, how the pieces are assembly and plaiting together and how to work further on after chart A.3. How to assembly a head band so that it becomes a braid in front

In this DROPS video we show how to assembly a head band so that there is a braid in front, like it is done in DROPS 214-68. The head band is worked as a tube with an opening at each end. When assembly, lay the tube flat - make sure that the tube is not twisted. Sew the openings at the ends with a seam on each side, sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch so that the seam does not become thick. The piece is now a flat rectangle, fold the rectangle lengthwise so that it lies double. Now lay the long sides of the head band together in layers without twisting the work. The ends of the head band now lies alternately inside and outside each other, and the edges lies edge to edge. Sew through all layers with tight whip stitches with 1 stitch in each stitch - it is important that it is sewn through all layers so that the seam do not show when the work is turned inside out. Turn the work inside out, so that the seam is on the inside of the head band. This head band is worked in DROPS Alpaca and DROPS Kid-Silk, the same qualities we use in the video. How to sew a fold edge to a hat

In this DROPS video we show how and where we sew a fold-up edge and how the fold-up edge is folded, as it is done in DROPS 234-41. Follow the pattern and fold the edge up on the right side so that cast-on edge hit marker inserted in piece (fold measures approx. 9 cm = 3 1/2"). Fasten cast-on edge with loose long stitches but make sure to avoid a tight seam. Then fold the double edge up on the right side. The yarn used in this hat and shown in the video is DROPS Flora and DROPS Kid-Silk You must read a pattern to be able to follow this video properly. How to sew together a head band with grafting / kitchener stitches

In this DROPS video we show how to sew together a head band that is worked as a tube with cables. Use grafting/kitchener stitches and sew stitches from bind-off edge together with stitches from cast-on edge - make sure that stitches from cables at one end matches the stitches from cables at the other end. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You must read a pattern (and look at the charts) to be able to follow this video properly. Poncho : Assembly

We have several poncho designs in our Drops collections based on the same basic rectangular shape. Examples: DROPS 110-15, 93-49, 89-16, 89-10, 87-16, 0-48 You work two straight rectangular pieces that are sewn together. In this DROPS Video we show you how that is done. Neck warmer - assembly

It's super easy to make a neck warmer/shoulder piece/poncho out of a straight piece. We have several popular designs using this basic technique, as for example Drops design # 153-19, 153-11, 149-40, 149-17, 143-7, 140-46, 131-49 116-22, ...and more to come. In this Drops Video we show how to seam the piece together to create the shape of the garment. Seam inside edge stitches like this: On long side: Go under the bars, usually going *under 2 bars 1st time, 2 bars 2nd time and 1 bar 3rd time, and then rep from * gives a good tension. Short side: Go around each stitch on the short side. Make sure to go under the stitches looking like this ^ and not like this v, this way the seamed stitches will continue the same pattern as your knitted piece.
