How to assemble a slipper with a seam in front, mid top and back

Keywords: kant, slippers, stripes,

In this DROPS video we show how to assemble a slipper, with a seam in front, mid top and back, like the slippers “Line Walking” in DROPS 203-24. We have already worked the slipper and then show which seam that should be sewn together first, then how to knit up stitches and then the last seam. These slippers are worked in DROPS Snow, the same yarn as we use in the video. You must read the pattern and look at the chart to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the picture below.

HI! Could you actually show the sewing process? Most people have a problem with sewing. Thank you!

Dear Mari, you will find the video showing how to sew on the pattern page, ie invisible grafting (mid top on foot) and side seam (mid back of slipper). Happy knitting!

Hiya For knitting up the opening, does the needle need to be circular or can it be done with straight needles?

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Jane, it might be easier to work with a circular needle because of the opening of piece (even before seam). you can use instead 2 or 3 double pointed needles distributing all stitches over the double pointed needles and work also back and forth, turning after each row. Happy knitting!
