08.03.2021 - 10:27Hiya For knitting up the opening, does the needle need to be circular or can it be done with straight needles?

Dear Jane, it might be easier to work with a circular needle because of the opening of piece (even before seam). you can use instead 2 or 3 double pointed needles distributing all stitches over the double pointed needles and work also back and forth, turning after each row. Happy knitting!
