When working a round yoke top down you can increase by using markers on the row and work the increases alternatively on the right and the left of each marker. In this DROPS video we show you how to do this. Here we work back and forth, but the technique is the same if you work in the round. In the video we placed 6 markers on the row and in the first row we increase by working 2 dc in 1 dc on the RIGHT side of each marker (or BEFORE the marker) and in the second row we increase by working 2 dc in 1 dc on the LEFT side of each marker (or AFTER the marker). In this DROPS video we how to make 3 strands out of 1 single strand from a ball of yarn. 1. Make a simple loop (like the loop worked when you begin any crochet project) and pull it to approx. 2-3 cm = ¾"-1⅛" in length. 2. Thread the strand from the skein through this loop, creating a new loop of approx. 40-50 cm = 15¾"-19¾". 3. Lay this loop alongside the working strand, so 1 strand becomes 3 strands. 4. Knit or crochet using these 3 strands until there is approx. 2 cm = ¾" left. Repeat points 2 to 4.
